/chestloot command

by Mod_Beast · on CurseForge

A command that allows server owners to set up a highly configurable chest loot system in their minigames, survival servers, ect.. (v26.50+ compatible!)

Which Minecraft do you have?

Every version of the game needs its own build. Pick yours, then download — the wrong build installs fine and then does nothing in the game.

Open Minecraft and look at the bottom-left corner of the main screen — the version is printed there, like v1.26.30.
The game writes a 1. in front; the buttons above leave it off. v1.26.30 in the game is 26.30 here.

Chest Loot Command

Chest Loot Command is a customizable loot system that lets you create, configure, and manage randomized loot chests throughout your world.

You can create different loot tables for different areas, choose what items can appear, control their rarity and quantity, customize equipment durability and enchantments, and assign those loot tables to physical chests.

Commands

/chestloot help

If you ever get stuck, use this command to pop up a menu describing each command!

/chestloot create <name>

Creates a new ChestLoot table.

Example:
/chestloot create mychestloot

After creating it, the ChestLoot editor opens automatically. From there, you can configure its items, equipment durability, and enchantment settings.

/chestloot edit <name>

Opens the editor for an existing ChestLoot table.

You can:

Example:
/chestloot edit mychestloot

/chestloot set <name>

Assigns an existing ChestLoot table to the chest you are looking at.

Example:
/chestloot set mychestloot

Once assigned, that chest will use the selected loot table when loot is generated.

Double chests are supported, so a ChestLoot can be assigned to an entire double chest.

/chestloot delete <name>

Deletes an entire ChestLoot table.

Any registered chests using that ChestLoot will also be removed from the ChestLoot system.

Example:
/chestloot delete mychestloot

/chestloot roll <name>

Immediately rerolls all registered chests using the specified ChestLoot table.

Example:
/chestloot roll mychestloot

You can also use:

/chestloot roll all

This rerolls every registered ChestLoot chest in the world.

ChestLoot temporarily loads each chest when needed instead of permanently keeping every chest's area loaded, helping reduce unnecessary world loading and ticking-area usage.

/chestloot feedback <true|false>

Controls whether ChestLoot sends update information to operators.

Example:
/chestloot feedback true

When enabled, operators can receive useful information such as when chests are being updated or when invalid registered chests are removed.

Adding Items

Items can be added using the format:

<itemid> <amount> <rarity>

For example:

diamond 1-5 rare

or:

gold_ingot 5-15 normal

Multiple items can be added at once by separating them with commas:

diamond 1-5 rare, gold_ingot 5-15 common, iron_ingot 3-10 normal

Minecraft item IDs can be entered with or without the minecraft: prefix.

For example:

diamond

and:

minecraft:diamond

both work.

If an invalid item ID or invalid format is entered, ChestLoot rejects the addition instead of adding a broken item.

Item Amounts

The amount determines how many of that item are generated when the item appears.

For example:

gold_ingot 5-15 normal

means the chest can generate anywhere from 5 to 15 gold ingots.

The amount does not affect how likely the item is to appear.

ChestLoot also separates generated quantities into multiple stacks and spreads them throughout the chest instead of putting everything into one slot.

Rarities

Rarity controls how likely an item is to appear at all.

The current default chances are:

For example, if an emerald is set to Very Rare, it has a 10% chance to appear whenever the chest is generated.

If it does appear, its configured amount is then rolled separately.

This means a rare item can still give a large amount when it appears without becoming more common.

Every item rolls independently, so a chest can contain many different items, only a few items, or potentially be empty.

Equipment Durability

ChestLoot can randomize the starting durability of equipment.

The available settings are:

This only affects items that actually have durability, such as swords, pickaxes, armor, bows, and other equipment.

Items without durability are unaffected.

Random Enchantments

Equipment can also receive random enchantments when it is generated.

You can enable or disable Random Enchants in the ChestLoot editor.

When enabled, equipment has a chance to receive compatible enchantments. The Enchantment Chance setting controls how likely an enchantment is to be added.

For example, setting the chance to 50% means each applicable enchantment roll has a 50% chance of being applied.

The system also prevents incompatible enchantments from being applied to equipment.

Chest Management

ChestLoot remembers the location of every chest assigned to a loot table.

When a roll is performed, ChestLoot:

  1. Finds the registered chests.

  2. Temporarily loads the area containing the chest.

  3. Checks that the chest still exists.

  4. Generates the loot.

  5. Fills the chest.

  6. Removes the temporary loading area.

This means ChestLoot does not need to keep every loot chest permanently loaded.

If a registered chest is broken or otherwise becomes invalid, ChestLoot detects it and removes it from the database. Then sends a chat message to all oporators letting them know (as long as feedback is set to true).

If a ChestLoot table is deleted, all chests assigned to that table are also unregistered.

In Short

Create → Configure → Set → Roll

  1. Create a loot table with /chestloot create.

  2. Add your items and configure their rarity, amounts, durability, and enchantments.

  3. Look at a chest and use /chestloot set to assign the loot table.

  4. Use /chestloot roll to generate randomized loot.

This allows you to build everything from simple survival supply chests to extremely rare dungeon loot, with each chest generating a different combination of items.

Required World Settings

However, I have not tested it without beta apis; so please let me know if it has any issues.
