Keep Inventory... But its actually fair? adds a small penalty to Keep Inventory by removing one random inventory slot when you die.

The entire contents of that slot are removed.
Everything else is kept.
Empty slots are never selected.
If Keep Inventory is disabled, Minecraft's normal death behavior remains unchanged visually.
A simple way to make Keep Inventory feel a little more fair without completely removing its benefits.
