Wool Efficient Coloring

Color wool the same way you color glass! This datapack adds a simple, vanilla-friendly recipe that lets you dye 8 white wool blocks with just 1 dye, making large building projects much less resource-intensive.

The recipe follows the exact pattern used for vanilla glass coloring, so it feels like a natural extension of Minecraft.

✨ Features

📖 Recipe

Place 8 white wool blocks around 1 dye in the crafting grid.

Here you can see the recipes! The center dye determines the output color

Also... you can recolor any colored wool back to white wool! Transform any colored wool back to white wool

📥 Installation

  1. Download the datapack.
  2. Place it inside your world's datapacks folder.
  3. Run /reload or restart the world.
  4. Enjoy more efficient wool coloring!

💡 Why?

Vanilla Minecraft already lets you color glass by surrounding a dye with 8 glass blocks, but wool still requires one dye per block.

This datapack brings wool in line with the existing vanilla mechanic, making it more consistent and much more convenient for builders.
