Mod Info Lister
Minecraft Java mod. Downloads from the MC Java Mods app on Android.
⬇ Download on CurseForgeMod Info Lister is a simple mod for modpack creators that dumps useful mod information to a CSV file. To use it, just put the mod JAR into the mods folder and the CSV file will be created during post-init (loading stage 5).
The mod dumps the following information into ./ModInfoLister/modlist.csv/:
- Display name
- Display version
- URL
- Author(s)
- Mod ID
You can find an example of a dumped CSV file for All The Mods 3 (plus a few extra mods) here: [Google Docs] [CSV Download]
Important information about the dumped CSV file:
- The CSV file is pipe delimited ( | )
- Some applications (ie. Google Docs) cannot automatically detect that the CSV file is pipe delimited and you must specify that it is (read further below to see how to import into Excel)
- Any pipes found in any of the dumped information is replaced with a space (ie. opencomputers|core is replaced with opencomputers core)
- If no URL is specified, the space is filled with 'unspecified'
- If no authors are specified, the space is filled with 'none'
- The mod will overwrite an existing CSV file with information from the current launch if necessary
The mod has been verified working on 1.8.x 1.10.x and 1.12.x, should also work on 1.9.x and 1.11.x, using the same JAR file. The mod has been verified not working on 1.7.x. I won't back-port it for 1.7.x etc, Dragon2488 made a similar mod for 1.7.2 and 1.7.10 called Mod-list generator if you need it.
To import the CSV file into Excel, do the following:
- Open a blank sheet (DO NOT open the CSV file with File > Open)
- Under the data tab, choose "from text" and locate the CSV.
- Make sure 'Delimited' is checked and press next.
- Uncheck 'Tab', check 'Other' and put | in the text field next to it.
- Select 'Finish'
- Another dialogue will open, select 'OK'.
Google Docs will immediately ask for the delimiting character when imported, make sure to put a pipe ( | ).
