Elemental Mastery

Note: This is a very Early Version of the mod. As of now only a few of the planned features are implemented. More to come soon!

Basic Idea

The basic Idea of Elemental mastery is to give the player more options for tools and equipment. It also adds new tool types to the game as well as some mechanics on tools that are impossible to obtain in vanilla Minecraft. Overall it is meant to give a player more options in tools, ranging from more early game options to powerful late game tools and weapons.

 Background

There are four types of energy, one for each of the gems. Different machines require different types and amounts of energy. Energy can be stored inside multiblock capacitors.

Capacitor

A capacitor is a multiblock structure that is used to store energy. It is built by creating a 3x3x3 of capacitor walls, or capacitor class. Then a capacitor block must be placed in the center, and a capacitor controller must be placed in the center of one of the sides.

Right-clicking the capacitor controller will cause the multiblock to form.

A multi-capacitor can store 25,000 of each energy.

A type-specific capacitor can store 100,000 of its type.

Energy Cores

The starting point for all power in elemental mastery, each type can be crafted from the respective gem and energy core fragments. Energy Cores can also rarely drop from their respective creeper. In order for the energy cores to be useful, they need to be activated. Energy cores are activated with the dust of the respective gem, glowstone, redstone, and the inactive energy core.

Collectors

There are 5 collectors currently. All of them serve the same general purpose but have minor differences.

Basic Collector

The first machine that can be built. The basic collector is able to generate small piles of dust out of thin air! This machine requires no power. This is required to progress because it is the only way to get dusts which are needed to activate the energy cores.

Speed Collector

The speed collector runs off of energy. It also creates small piles of dust but at a much faster rate than the basic collector.

Uses 100 opal energy per second.

Stores up to 10,000 opal energy and none of the other types.

Fire Collector

Collects nuggets instead of small dust piles.

Uses 100 topaz energy per second.

Stores up to 10,000 topaz energy.

Healing Collector

Collects small dust piles slightly slower than the speed collector.

Also has a chance to create a small heart (currently has no uses).

Uses 100 ruby energy per second.

Stores up to 10,000 ruby energy.

Strength Collector

Collects small dust piles slightly slower than the speed collector.

Has 4 extra inventory slots, 1 for each dust type.

Uses 100 sapphire energy per second.

Stores up to 10,000 sapphire energy.

Generators

Generators are the basic way to create energy.

Generators burn gems in order to create energy.

There are 4 types of generators, one for each energy type.

Each generator creates 1000 energy per second and has an internal buffer of 10,000 energy.

Linking Tool

The linking tool is the way to connect machines and generators to capacitors.

Link machines and generators to capacitors by first clicking on an active capacitor controller and then right-clicking on the machine or generator.

This will link that block to the capacitor.

Capacitors will store energy from generators and distribute them to machines.

Machines and generators can only be linked to one capacitor at a time.

Core Crafter

The core crafter is a way to make core fragments.

Placing 4 redstone and a stick into the machine and supplying it with power will create energy core fragments.

These fragments can then be used to craft energy cores.

The core crafter uses 100 energy per second of all types.

It can also store 10,000 of each energy type.

Quarry

The quarry is a machine that will mine out the chunk that it is in.

Chests can be placed on either of the 6 sides of the block and it will put the drops into it.

Apply a redstone signal to the quarry to start mining.

The quarry uses 50 of all energy types per second (will be increased later) and stores 20,000 of each.

Upgrades can also be placed on any of the 6 sides.

There are 4 types of upgrades, each of them increase the energy usage of their respective energy type:

- Speed upgrade: Increases the mining speed.

- Fire upgrade: Smelts all items that can be smelted.

- Healing upgrade: Replaces all broken blocks with dirt.

- Strength upgrade: Increases the range of the quarry. Each upgrade will increase the chunk radius by 1 chunk. (1 upgrade mines a 3x3 chunk area)

Solar Panels

Solar panels are the second way to create energy.

When it is daytime, solar panels will generate energy.

There are 4, one for each energy type.

They produce 200 energy per second and have no internal buffer.
