Based on CustomSkinLoader and SkinsRestorer

Made for Better Than Adventure (BTA) 8.0.1

What does it do?

Basically, upon opening a world or entering a server, the game asks Mojang's servers for a skin associated to your Minecraft name, so, if it doesn't find anything, you got Steve. So, this mod intercepts the call and searches in a different way, if Mojang doesn't find anything, it asks ElyBy.

Something like this:

Mojang -> Ely.by -> Steve (no response)

If it doesn't find skins... Lucky you, in that case we have commands:

/rsl skin (set|clear|list|admin)

RSL can also fetch skins from URLs, which means it isn't limited to just a handful of providers, go crazy.

How do commands work?

RSL works using a pool of skins determined by an admin in a server (or in your minecraft's or server's folder, search for skins_list.json inside the 'RetroSkinLoader' folder), which then, allow the players to select a skin from that pool.

e.g.

/rsl skin admin adduser hi notch

/rsl skin set hi

Also... It's been a long time since I modded Minecraft so... I'll try making it easier to use on the long run if you find it a bit rough around the edges as of now...

Can I add providers?

Of course you can, if it's compatible with the format on RSLconfig.json, go nuts.

Shoutout to:

These two mods got me thinking about doing the same for Better Than Adventure, if it wasn't for these mods and their great developers, I wouldn't have even thought of it. Source Code also includes parts of CSL due to its system design (though sometimes it got me more confused than helping me to solve issues).
