LocalRealms
Spin up your own custom Minecraft worlds without leaving the game. LocalRealms lets you create, save, and hop between as many worlds as you want — each with its own inventory, gamemode, and rules.
What It Does
- Create worlds on demand. Flat creative sandboxes, empty void skyblocks, or fresh survival overworlds — all from a single command.
- Every world is its own save. Your inventory, armor, offhand, ender chest, XP, hunger, health, and gamemode are remembered separately for each world. Step into a creative flatland, build, then teleport back to your survival world with everything exactly as you left it.
- Worlds stick around. Anything you create is saved and automatically reloaded whenever the server restarts.
- Pick the default gamemode per world. Choose Survival, Creative, or Adventure when you create it — first-time visitors spawn in that mode.
- Sensible gamerule defaults per style. Flat and Void worlds have PvP off and freeze time, weather, and mob spawning. Normal worlds behave like vanilla.
- Public or op-only. Lock a world down so only ops can visit, or open it up to everyone. The server's default
world_netherandworld_endare op-only by default (portal travel still works — the lock only affects/worldcreator join); editworlds.ymlif you want to open them up.
Requirements
- A Paper server (or Paper fork like Purpur) running Minecraft 1.21.11
- Java 21 or newer
- Op status if you want to create worlds (joining is open by default)
Installation
Drop the LocalRealms.jar into your server's plugins/ folder and restart. That's it.

/worldcreator admin create <name> <style> <dimension> <permlev> <gamemode> [seed]

Example — a public creative void world for skyblock:
/worldcreator admin create skyblock VOID NORMAL 1 CREATIVE
Example — an op-only flat testing world:
/worldcreator admin create testflat FLAT NORMAL 4 CREATIVE
Expect a brief lag spike while the world generates.
Join a world
/worldcreator join <name>
Teleports you to that world's spawn. Tab-complete will list every world you're allowed to visit.
Tips
- Your first visit to any world gives you a clean slate (empty inventory, full health, the world's default gamemode). Everything is saved from that point on — including your gamemode, so switching to Creative in a Survival world will stick the next time you return.
- You can edit
plugins/LocalRealms/worlds.ymlby hand to change a world's style, permlev, or default gamemode if needed — restart the server for changes to take effect. - The server's original
worldis picked up automatically and treated as a Normal world, so per-world inventories work there too.
