FN Aigle was a french destroyer during WW2. She moved gold reserves, covered Atlantic and Mediterranean movements, and escorted North African troop convoys. In Operation Vado (June 1940), she fought Italian coastal batteries and torpedo boats just before the French armistice. After France surrendered in June 1940, it served in the Vichy French navy, and was scuttled at Toulon on November 27, 1942, to prevent German capture.
