"I want to play a modpack where we could just kill shit" - My friend, shortly before I began making this modpack

What is Gothorum?

Gothorum || Monster Slayer, is an adventure and exploration/magic modpack with insparation drawn from media such as: The Witcher books, Berserk,  and the Wheel of Time novels, With gameplay mechanics inspired by other such adventure modpacks like: Rebirth of the night, Roguelike adventures and dungeons, and RLcraft. This project initally started as a simple modpack designed for just me and my buddies, but overtime flourished into becoming one of my largest autism projects, eventually developing into a story/quest driven adventure modpack with custom NPC's and unique world generation.

What do you do in Gothorum?

You play the role of a random monster hunter fresh out of training. Your initial goal will be to simply kill the various monsters that inhabit the world, but as you progress through your journey, you will eventually uncover darker secrets and mysterious entities. Through various NPC's encountered throughout your playthrough, you will learn more about the world you inhabit, and eventually save your world from the apocalypse. The main focus is combat and exploration, but completion will require you to delve into a variety of magic mods such as Thaumcraft and bewitchment. Building takes a backseat in this modpack as most of the construction you will be doing will revolve around raising defenses and creating automated machinery. Although I just said that you will be automating certain things, there is little to no technology mods to be found, most of what you will find will be rather straightforward and not too complicated.

What does "Gothorum" mean?

Idk, I think it's a combination of the latin word "Gothica" and something else.
