Lets you upgrade your gear no matter what type it is with smithing templates just like how you upgrade netherite. Good for upgrading low tier loot with good enchantments or if you hold sentimental value in your gear.
Finding the templates:
Stone: mineshafts, dungeons, village mason chests
Copper: trial chambers, underwater ruins, shipwreck treasure
Gold: desert pyramids, ruined portals, Nether fortresses, bastions
Iron: pillager outposts, strongholds, armorer/toolsmith/weaponsmith village chests
Diamond: ancient cities, end cities, bastion treasure rooms, buried treasure, shipwreck treasure chests, strongholds
