Have you ever wondered how to make money from your Minecraft server without asking for donations AND without breaking the EULA?
How it works
AdFly is a website that allows you to earn money to pass a link, if you have a link you want to share, let's say www.google.com as an example, and you put it through adf.ly, the person opening the link would see a quick 5 seconds add and then get redirected to the actual link.
With this plugin on your server, every time a link is pops up in chat that links get replaced with an adf.ly redirect to that link. This includes all links, including links from other plugins etc. This means that if someone clicks that link, they will see 5 seconds add before actually viewing the page the link goes to, and you will earn some money on adf.ly.
PLEASE NOTE!
If you're running this plugin on a version below 1.12, the plugin will replaced chat messages instead of using custom chat formatting.
Setup
Setting up this plugin is extremely easy:
- Download the plugin from this page
- Stop your server
- Put it in your 'plugins' folder
- Start your server
- Go to the adf.ly account page
- Press join now
- Create an account or log in with google
- Go to tools and press 'easy-link'
- Copy the number code in the middle of the demonstration link, for example, if your link looks like this, your number would be the 8 digits in the middle (here they are 24592904)
- Paste these copies into 'adfly-key' in the config.yml generated in the plugins datafolder, you can find the config by going to 'plugins' -> 'AdFlyLinker' -> 'config.yml'
- Run /adfly reload
- Earn money for doing nothing
Tip:
Sometimes the adf.ly links can force uses to allow notifications, which can be really annoying. I recommend disabling this, you do this by going to your adf.ly account and pressing the "account" icon below your name
Scroll down to the bottom of the account page and disable "Push Ads"
Withdrawal
As soon as you've earned $5 in ad revenue you can do your first withdrawal on adf.ly.
