Welcome to Xiamian City Chronicles, Map Five!
In this version, you are brought up to the point where I began to have Xiamian City live on PMC for viewing and download.
I have scrapped the initial build of the Essex hull, and followed the age old principle of using actual blueprints to shape the hull this time.
After I got the lower hull set up correctly, I built the top part in sections, starting with the bow and moving backward.
Once the hull and island was built, it was time to build the interior!
One thing that is notable about the Essex was that after the two upgrades done after WWII, the Essex became a "Ship within a ship", with the older hull still contained within a new, wider structure that better handled the added weight and the new angled flight deck.
The interior grid was laid, then I set up the ladders and stairs for each level, along with the uptake system that allowed the engines to breathe. I built the engines and boilers, and worked my way up until the insides were complete. |
