Pig iron

To start building the car, you first need its raw material: Pig Iron. Craft it using one Raw Iron and two Coal.

Steel Ingot

To smelt it, place it in a Blast Furnace to obtain a Steel Ingot, which will unlock most of the recipes for the car parts.

Chassis

The first part of the automobile is the chassis. You will need the following parts:

• Front Axle
• Rear Axle
• 2x Car Suspension
• Steel Ingots

The Front Axle recipe requires 3 Steel Ingots placed horizontally.

The Rear Axle recipe requires 3 Steel Ingots arranged in a V shape.

The Car Suspension recipe requires Steel Ingots, a Slime Ball, and a Latex Bowl.

How to Get Latex

Latex is the material used to make rubber. To collect it, you first need to craft a Latex Collection Spout and place it on a tree trunk.

The Latex Collection Spout is crafted using 1 Bowl, 2 Steel Ingots, and 2 Iron Ingots.

Once the bowl is filled with latex, right-click the block with an empty bowl to collect it.

The spout has a 5% chance to produce latex every 20–40 ticks.

Once you have the chassis, place it on the ground.

After placing it, you will see the required part floating above the chassis. Add the part by right-clicking or interacting with it.

If you placed the chassis incorrectly, hit it several times to remove it. You will get the chassis item back along with all the parts you previously installed.

Wheels

The next parts you need to craft are the wheels. Each wheel requires 2 Bowls of Latex and 1 Steel Ingot. You will need 4 wheels in total.

Right-click the chassis while holding a wheel to install it.

The cooling system requires a Radiator, a Water Tank, and Pipes.

To craft a Radiator, you need 3 Steel Ingots, 2 Copper Ingots, 2 Gold Ingots, and 1 Water Bucket.

To craft a Water Tank, you need Steel Ingots and a Latex Bowl.

To craft Pipes, you need Latex Bowls and 1 Steel Ingot.

Engine

To craft the Engine, you need:

• Cylinders
• Crankshaft
• Connecting Rods
• Flywheel
• Valves
• Ignition System
• Fuel System
• 2 Steel Ingots

Cylinders

Requires 4 Steel Ingots.

Crankshaft

Requires 3 Steel Ingots arranged diagonally.

Connecting Rods

Requires 2 Steel Ingots.

Flywheel

Requires 4 Steel Ingots and 1 Iron Ingot.

Valves

Requires 2 Steel Ingots and 1 Latex Bowl.

Ignition System

Requires 1 Spark Plug, 1 Electric Spark Magneto, and 1 Copper Ingot.

Spark Plug

Requires 1 Gold Ingot, 1 Steel Ingot, and 1 Redstone.

Electric Spark Magneto

Requires 2 Copper Ingots, 2 Redstone, 1 Steel Ingot, and 1 Gold Ingot.

Fuel System

Requires 1 Carburetor, 1 Intake System, and 2 Pipes.

Carburetor

Requires 2 Steel Ingots, 1 Copper Ingot, and 1 Latex Bowl.

Intake System

Requires 2 Steel Ingots and 2 Pipes.

Car Body

The car body requires 2 Mudguards, 1 Car Hood, 1 Car Floor, and 1 Rear Body.

Mudguard

Requires 3 Steel Ingots.

You need 2 Mudguards.

Car Hood

Requires 5 Steel Ingots.

Rear Body

Requires 3 Steel Ingots, 1 Latex Bowl, and 1 Wheel.

Car Floor

Requires 5 Steel Ingots.

Headlights

Cars need to light the way, so you will need headlights. For this, you will have to rely on the old method of using acetylene gas lamps.

To craft the Headlights, you need:

• 2 Acetylene Gas
• 1 Glass
• 2 Steel Ingots
• 1 Gold Ingot
• 1 Iron Ingot

Acetylene Gas

To craft Acetylene Gas, you need:

• 1 Water-Filled Bottle
• 1 Iron Ingot
• 2 Calcium Carbide

 

How to Get Calcium Carbide

To obtain Calcium Carbide, you first need to find Limestone.

Limestone can be found in Extreme Hills or Dripstone Caves, where it generates inside Stone or Dripstone Blocks.

You can mine Limestone with any pickaxe. Higher-tier pickaxes will mine it faster.

Limestone can also be used to craft Limestone Bricks for decorative purposes.

To process it, smelt Limestone in a Blast Furnace to obtain Quicklime.

Then, smelt the Quicklime to obtain Calcium Carbide.

Seats

To craft the Seats, you need:

• 4 Steel Ingots
• 4 Black Wool

Center Lights

To craft the Center Lights, you need:

• 2 Acetylene Gas
• 1 Glass
• 1 Steel Ingot
• 4 Gold Ingots
• 1 Redstone

 

Control System

The Control System is the final component you need to craft the 1910 automobile.

You will need:

• Steering Wheel
• Gear Levers
• Brakes

• 2 Steel Ingots

1910 Automobile

Your car is now ready to drive and light your way.

You can remove the car by hitting it several times. However, you will need fuel to keep it running. Each bottle of Ethanol refills 25% of the fuel tank.

How to Get Ethanol

Travel to the Plains and look for Pharmacies. A Pharmacist will sell you potions and Ethanol.

You can buy 4 bottles of Ethanol for 5 Emeralds, and there is no limit to how many times you can purchase it.

Refueling the Car

To refuel the car, sneak and right-click while holding an Ethanol Bottle.

You can see the fuel bar at the top of the UI, which shows how much fuel remains in the car.
