The decision to move from CurseForge to Modrinth is influenced by concerns related to Overwolf's financial contributions to the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). Additionally, it has come to light that Israel is inciting or carrying out genocide against Palestinians during the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. These events are linked to the conceptualisation of Israel as a settler colonial state, and they point to various events and actions as evidence of genocidal intent. Overwolf, has been reported to donate money generated by users to the IDF, which has sparked controversy and led to a petition calling for CurseForge/Overwolf to cease such funding. This has prompted us to seek alternative platforms such as Modrinth, which is not associated with similar controversies.
