Installation
- Download the latest Chatty JAR.
- Stop your server.
- Place the JAR inside the server's
pluginsfolder. - Start the server using Java 25.
- Configure the generated files inside
plugins/Chatty/. - Restart the server after making configuration changes.
Do not use /reload. Restart the server normally when installing or updating the plugin.
Migrating from Chatty v2
Chatty automatically detects a legacy v2 config.yml.
During migration, Chatty:
- Creates a timestamped backup named
Chatty_old_<timestamp>. - Generates the new v3 configuration files.
- Migrates compatible chats, moderation settings, private messages, mentions, and vanilla messages.
- Prints a list of settings that require manual review.
Sounds, interactive replacements, notifications, locale messages, per-chat commands, and legacy BungeeCord chat settings may require manual configuration after migration.
Keep the generated backup until you have confirmed that the migrated configuration works correctly.
Updating
- Stop the server.
- Back up
plugins/Chatty/. - Replace the old Chatty JAR with the new version.
- Start the server and review the console for migration or configuration warnings.
