Greatest of Centuries [A.D. 1227]

"In the thirteenth century, Central Europe was experiencing the height of its prosperity. A period of expanding trade fostered the development of cities, and major wars were rare. The atmosphere surrounding the Crusades also brought a new architectural trend – Gothic, creating towering cathedral scrapping the heaven itself.

However, dark clouds were gathering over the region, with dynastic conflicts threatening Poland and Kievan Rus. At the same time as the imperial conflict with the papacy threatened to tear the Holy Roman Empire apart. While the crusaders prepared for new bloodshed at the Baltics, a few criers brought disturbing news of a great power growing in the east. Only time can tell if the age of property can be maintained...."
