Guardian Drops

A small datapack that gives the Guardian a rare bonus drop on death.

Built for Minecraft 26.2 (data pack format 107.1).

What it drops

One roll per kill, so you never get more than one thing:

• Wet Sponge - 1%
• Nothing - 99%

Guardians already drop prismarine shards, prismarine crystals, fish, and occasionally a raw fish from the Sponge Room's moat, but never a sponge itself - those are normally only found in ocean monument sponge rooms. This is a rare, mostly-cosmetic bonus for people who'd rather farm Guardians than clear a sponge room.

Variants

The loot table comes in a couple of flavors, so admins can pick whichever fits their server. same odds, different rules:

• default - drops no matter what kills the Guardian (lava, fall damage, etc. all count).
• player_kill - only drops if a player actually lands the kill.

Install

Download the variant you want, drop the resulting pack into your world's datapacks/ directory, then run /reload (or restart the server).
