ABERRATION: SURVIVAL is a Survival Horror addon for Minecraft Bedrock Edition inspired by SCP themes. The addon transforms the familiar Minecraft world into a hostile survival environment where anomalous entities can appear at any time. Players must rely on equipment, weapons, healing items, and careful observation to survive.

 

Developed by Vinhloyouytin, the addon supports Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.30+ and includes both a Resource Pack and a Behavior Pack, with custom JavaScript scripting.

 

Danger Lurks in the Dark

 

In ABERRATION: SURVIVAL, darkness is more than just the absence of light. Anomalous entities appear and actively hunt players, each with distinct forms and attack patterns that create genuine threats rather than merely increasing mob counts.

 

Notable entities include:

- SCP - Fleshy

- SCP - Faceless

- SCP - Watcher

- SCP - Hand

- SCP - Frank

- SCP - Smile

- SCP - Small Bat, SCP - Large Bat

- SCP - Small Spider, SCP - Large Spider

- Faceless variants of animals and villagers

- Fleshy creatures mutated from animals

 

Some entities attack in unconventional ways. The Watcher can induce disorientation and impair vision. Others can fire projectiles or attack from range, while certain creatures create surprising hazards during exploration.

 

Faceless — Familiar Faces, Made Unfamiliar

 

A core feature is the Faceless system. Instead of a single Faceless entity, the addon includes faceless variants of many common Minecraft mobs:

- Faceless Bee, Cat, Chicken, Enderman, Fox, Rabbit, Villager, Wolf, and more.

 

Faceless entities also interact: when three Faceless converge, they can trigger a ritual and vanish to spawn a Faceless Cloud. Multiple encounters with the same type become unpredictable and dangerous.

 

Fleshy — Twisted Lifeforms

 

Fleshy is another group of corrupted creatures. The addon adds several Fleshy variants based on Minecraft animals:

- Fleshy Cow, Horse, Pig, Sheep, Turtle.

 

These grotesque designs reinforce the sense that Minecraft’s ecosystem has been contaminated by something unnatural.

 

Survival Gear

 

ABERRATION: SURVIVAL equips players with specialized tools and weapons beyond vanilla options.

 

Vampiric Scythe

- A unique weapon that heals the user for a portion of dealt damage, improving survivability in combat.

 

Flamethrower

- A sustained-area weapon for intense confrontations, allowing continuous flame application.

 

Combat Knife

- A tactical melee weapon with custom attack and block-collision sound effects.

 

Night Vision Goggles

- Devices that greatly enhance visibility in dark environments, ideal for exploring hazardous areas.

 

Hazmat Suit

- Consists of Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, and Boots. The suit reduces and resists toxic effects, with protection scaling by pieces worn. Wearing the full set grants immunity to Poison and Fatal Poison.

 

Recovery Items

 

Survival depends on more than weapons. The addon provides several healing and support items.

 

Bandages

- Restore health and can be used to heal other players.

 

First Aid Kit

- Provides stronger healing and removes negative effects such as Slowness, Blindness, Poison, and Wither. Especially valuable in multiplayer.

 

Risky Consumables

 

Some items derived from anomalous creatures offer powerful but hazardous effects.

 

Fleshy Remnants

- Can apply multiple effects at once (Hunger, Nausea, Strength).

 

Rage Essence

- Grants Speed, Regeneration, and Strength, but is dangerous to use.

 

Venom Gland

- Inflicts Poison on the user if mishandled.

 

These items are situational — not all drops from anomalies are safe rewards.

 

Traps and Utility Devices

 

The addon adds equipment for area control and tactical advantage:

- Bear Trap

- Spike Trap

- Light Alarm

- Glue Canister

- Poison Canister

 

Glue Canisters create projectile traps; Poison Canisters enable toxic area attacks. Light Alarms can be attached to block faces to provide warning and illumination.

 

Immersive Horror Atmosphere

 

Sound design is a major focus. The addon includes extensive custom sound effects for entities and items: footsteps, attack sounds, death cries, growls, wing flaps, screeches, and ambient noises. In ABERRATION: SURVIVAL, audio cues often warn you before you visually identify a threat.

 

Info Book

 

On first spawn, players receive an Info Book that serves as an in-game guide to the addon’s systems and new content, helping players learn mechanics without external references.

 

True Survival

 

ABERRATION: SURVIVAL is more than “just scary mobs.” It layers gameplay around:

 

Explore → Detect Danger → Prepare Gear → Fight → Heal → Manage Resources → Continue Exploring

 

Players must decide when to use items, what equipment to wear, and how to confront each entity. The right armor can protect against toxins, night vision goggles reveal threats in darkness, and a First Aid Kit can save you after an encounter. Sometimes, the best choice is to run.

You are entering a familiar world that is no longer safe. Once-harmless animals can become anomalous. The sounds in the dark may not be zombies or skeletons. And when you see something standing in the distance...
