Reese’s Sodium Options – Compat Rewrite

Reese’s Sodium Options – Compat Rewrite is a compatibility-focused rewrite of Reese’s Sodium Options for newer Sodium versions on Minecraft 1.21.1.

The goal is to preserve the cleaner and more organized Sodium settings experience people expect from Reese’s Sodium Options while moving away from outdated Sodium GUI internals that no longer exist in newer releases.

Features

Why does this exist?

Sodium’s options system has changed significantly over time.

Older versions of Reese’s Sodium Options and related extensions may reference internal Sodium classes that have since been renamed, moved, or removed. This can result in broken menus, failed mixins, or crashes when opening Video Settings.

Instead of continuing to depend on outdated internal behavior, Reese’s Sodium Options – Compat Rewrite aims to provide a cleaner compatibility-focused implementation for newer Sodium releases.

Current Target

Development and testing currently focus on:

Compatibility may expand as testing continues.

Installation

Install the mod normally through Modrinth or place the JAR inside your mods folder.

No -javaagent, custom JVM arguments, or manual JAR editing should be required.

Project Status

This project is actively being tested against larger modded environments.

Compatibility with shaders, Sodium extensions, rendering mods, and third-party options integrations may continue to improve in future releases.
