Hello, and thanks for taking interest in my texture pack.

I created this pack, as I'd assume many texture pack authors do, because I grew tired of the default textures. Particularly, I don't like how inconsistent they are from one texture to the next. This is particularly evident in the items. Some, like the food, are very detailed while others are very flat and have a restricted pallet.

To put it mildly, it was driving me crazy so I thought I'd make this pack to return to Sanity.

I wanted to get as close to a realistic look as I could while still keeping the pixilated charm of the default 16x resolution. I've also gone to great lengths to make sure that there's no need to use any mods, like MCPatcher, if you don't want to. I'm not going to make anyone mod their game if they don't want to just to use my work. Of course I've added some optional extras for those who do use a texture-enhancing mod, but the changes are few and mostly subtle.

It's taken me over a year to make, so I hope you all enjoy it.

These are additions to the core Sanity pack. Stack these ABOVE the regular pack in the Resource Packs menu to see their effects. If you need to know what order to stack them, look at the bottom-left of the pack icons. There are three tiers, so it's pretty easy to figure out.

Right now, these are questions that I want to answer before anyone asks them. I might add more and make this an FAQ once more people start asking me about the pack.
Questions & Answers
Q: I want to do something with your pack. May I?
A: Read the License. You can basically do whatever you want as long as you: 1) give me credit and link back to my minecraftforum.net thread, 2) make no money from it (including from ads) unless it's a video (such as those found on youtube.com), and 3) allow others the same rights privileges I've given to you on anything that you make using this pack.

If you do something cool with it, let me know and I'll link to you.

Q: May I make my own post for this pack on Planet Minecraft or some other site.
A: On Planet Minecraft, this is against the rules and the moderators will remove it. On other sites it depends on their site policies. If they have a policy pertaining to work not of your own making, you should avoid it.

Q: I can't read/don't understand/don't want to follow the license. May I just ask your permission?
A: If this is the case, the answer is "no you may not."

Q: Will you add support for [Insert Mod Name Here]?
A: Probably not. I only add support for mods that interest me. I favor small mods that add just a few interesting things to Minecraft. Things that compliment the vanilla game rather than add a gigantic tech tree that basically makes the tools available in vanilla worthless. You're free to suggest mods that I might like (including your own mod if you want me to add support for it), but I won't make any guarantees.

Q: Will you add support for Feed the Beast / Technic / Tekkit / Some other gigantic mod pack?
A: NO! Not unless I'm paid to. Making textures takes up a LOT of time, and unless I can somewow make this a full-time job it's just not feasable for me to even attempt to texture that many mods. I will add partial support for large mod packs in the future as a way to smooth the visuals when playing modded Minecraft with Sanity.

Q: Why are things like videos are are missing from this page, but present on the forum thread?
A: I didn't want to copy anything from the thread that would need regular updates, though I have started keeping a list of supported mods here as a courtesy to the mod makers. Keeping the screenshots current will be time consuming enough...

Q: Does that mean that you won't read any comments posted here?
A: I don't check this page often, but I do check it. If you want me to see your comment in a timely fashion, post it on the minecraftforum thread.

Q: Why do you answer questions in green text?
A: Because it's easier to tell the question from the answer, and because green is my favorite color. This is also why there are a lot of things that I've colored green in this pack that are not often that color in others.
