Who doesn't love playing with trains? This is a starter pack of a whole lot of work in progress. Everything in this pack works with all the items in this pack, no vanilla track used. Currently, trains can use buildings (silos, water towers and goods store) to move items between areas and the trains work through unloaded chunk areas instead of stalling at the border of a players simulation distance. Several more buildings and items are in the works so keep an eye out for added features.

The track is the interesting part:

Six rails, and the metal you make one from is the speed it carries: **timber 4
blocks a second, copper 7, iron 10, gold 13, diamond 17, netherite 22.** Any of
the eight woods for the sleepers, so eighty rails you can hold.

Track turns forty-five degrees at a time — a quarter turn is two of them with
a diagonal between, and you lay it exactly the way you already lay track. Banks
build themselves over three blocks. Lay a rail over a drop and a trestle grows
under it. Two diagonals crossing make a diamond.

Six engines, and they are not reskins of each other:

The Colliery Engine of 1815 has no cab and exposed beam gear. The
Single-Driver Express will do 20 but spins her wheels on a bank with anything
behind her. The Long-boiler Goods will drag whatever you couple to her and
hates curves. There's a Rocket, a Saddle Tank, and a 0-6-0 Tank Engine
that most railways end up running.

They burn coal and they drink water, both by distance. Run one dry a long way
from a tower and you'll be walking back with a bucket.

Build the railway around them:

Goods platforms that load and unload from chests. Water towers that fill from a
brook. Silos, lamp posts, semaphore signals with real block sections, level
crossings that work themselves, turnouts, a turntable. A Superintendent's
Notebook that puts the whole railway on one screen.

And it runs while you're not there:

Trains keep going through unloaded chunks — the whole journey is worked out from
the clock rather than simulated, so a railway you set going is still running when
you come back to it. Get in the cab and drive one yourself: the throttle sits on
your HUD and the movement stick notches it, forward or reverse.

I know there will be issues since it's difficult to test every possibility but please do post in the comments of things that are broken and things that need improvement. Thank you!!
