Player Head Drop Plugin for Minecraft PvP
Player Head Drop Plugin for Minecraft PvP
Plugin Overview
EpicBeheading is a Minecraft server plugin that introduces an exciting player-versus-player (PvP) mechanic. When a player kills another player in combat, there is a configurable chance that the victim's player head will drop as a loot item. The plugin enhances the PvP experience by rewarding successful kills with collectible, display-worthy trophies.
Core Features
1. Player Head Drop System
- Chance-based Drops: When a player kills another player, there is a percentage chance (default 5%) that the victim's head drops as loot
- Configurable Drop Rate: Server administrators can adjust the drop chance in the config file (0.0 to 1.0, representing 0% to 100%)
- Victim Identity Preservation: The dropped head retains the identity of the slain player
2. Custom Player Head Properties
- Skin Rendering: Dropped heads display the actual Minecraft skin of the killed player, ensuring visual authenticity
- Custom Display Name: Each head is given a stylized name that includes the victim's username (e.g., "✦ PlayerName's Head")
- Lore (Description): Heads feature a unique lore line indicating how the item was obtained
- Support for Color Codes: All display text supports Minecraft's color codes using the & symbol for vibrant, customizable formatting
3. Inventory Handling
- Direct Inventory Insertion: When a head drops successfully, it is automatically added to the killer's inventory if space is available
- Ground Drop Fallback: If the killer's inventory is full, the head item drops naturally at the victim's death location, ensuring no rewards are lost
4. Visual Title Notification
- On-Screen Alert: Upon successfully beheading a player, the killer receives a striking title notification in the center of their screen
- Two-Layer Display: Features both a main title and a subtitle for maximum visual impact
- Smooth Animation: Includes fade-in, stay, and fade-out timing (10 / 70 / 20 ticks) for a polished presentation
- Fully Customizable: Both title and subtitle text can be modified in the configuration
5. Configuration System
- config.yml Auto-Generation: A comprehensive configuration file is auto-generated on first plugin run in plugins/EpicBeheading/
- Configurable Options:
- Drop chance percentage
- Title and subtitle text
- Head display name format (supports %player% placeholder)
- Head lore description
- Default language setting
- Hot Reload Command: Configuration changes can be applied without restarting the server
6. Multi-Language Support
- Built-in Languages: Ships with two language files:
- en.yml — English
- zh_cn.yml — Simplified Chinese
- Language File Directory: Language files are automatically extracted to plugins/EpicBeheading/lang/
- User-Extensible: Server admins can modify or add new language files as needed
7. Command System
- Main Command: /epicbeheading (alias: /ebh)
- Available Subcommands:
- reload — Reloads the plugin's configuration and language files
- Permission Requirement: The reload command requires the epicbeheading.reload permission node (default: OP only)
8. Permission System
| Permission Node | Description | Default Access |
| epicbeheading.reload | Grants access to reload the plugin configuration | OP |

Q: Can I make heads drop 100% of the time?
A: Yes — set drop-chance: 1.0 in the configuration. For 0%, use drop-chance: 0.0.
Q: Will the heads always show the correct player skin?
A: Yes. The plugin sets the skull owner to the victim's Minecraft account username, so the official Mojang skin texture will render.
Q: What happens if the killer's inventory is completely full?
A: The head item will drop naturally at the victim's death location in the world, so the reward is never lost.
Q: Can I use this plugin alongside other PvP plugins?
A: EpicBeheading only listens to the PlayerDeathEvent and uses standard Bukkit APIs, so it should be compatible with most other PvP or anti-cheat plugins.
Q: Is there any economy integration or currency reward?
A: The current version (1.0.0) focuses solely on the head drop mechanic. Economy integration is not included at this time.
