Clear and configurable information for dropped items.
Spigot and Paper 1.14–26.2 | Java 8 bytecode | Source Available
About
ItemDropV2 Community improves dropped-item visibility and management without requiring NMS or a resource pack.
It displays useful information directly above dropped items, including their translated name, amount, rarity, owner, pickup protection and remaining lifetime. Display formats and most behaviours can be configured.
Features
- Dropped-item names and stack amounts
- Minecraft rarity colours
- Preserves and prioritises ItemStack custom names
- Owner attribution and shared eligible-owner display
- Configurable pickup protection
- Configurable item lifetime
- Safe native item merging
- Source detection for supported blocks, entities, containers and player actions
- World exclusion list
- English and Traditional Chinese plugin messages
- Configurable server-side Minecraft item-name language
- Optional PlaceholderAPI placeholders
- Safe configuration validation, repair and reload
- Legacy ItemDropV2 and ItemDrop configuration migration
- PDC-backed item state and restart recovery
- Runtime enable/disable command
ItemDropV2 Community does not create virtual stacks. Existing compatible carrier data can be drained safely without expanding it into a large number of entities.
Compatibility
- Server software: Spigot and Paper
- Supported Minecraft range: 1.14–26.2

Your Java runtime must still meet the requirements of the Minecraft server version you are running.

Known limitation in 1.0.0
When another plugin directly replaces the floating CustomName of an ItemDropV2-managed Item Entity, a later ItemDropV2 refresh may restore the ItemDropV2-generated name.
ItemStack custom names are not affected. A compatibility fix is planned for version 1.0.1.
Metrics and privacy
ItemDropV2 uses bStats to submit standard anonymous server and plugin statistics. It does not add custom charts containing player names, UUIDs, worlds, items or configuration values.
Server owners can disable bStats globally in plugins/bStats/config.yml.
