Stronger Mobs Below

by gottsch · on CurseForge

A mod that assigns difficulty / attribute modifications to mobs based on the world height range that they spawn at.

Which build do you need?

This mod ships a separate file for every mod loader and every version of the game. Pick both, then download — the wrong build installs fine and then does nothing in the game.

I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.

MOD ID: strongermobsbelow

Stronger Mobs Below is a Vanilla+ mob progression mod comparable to Harder Farther and Sliding Health, but it applies difficulty / attribute modifications to mobs based on the world height range that they spawn at.

Stronger Mobs Below is a rebranding of Enemy Echelons.  Enemy Echelons going forward is now an API, which Stronger Mobs Below is built upon, and is a required mod. For Enemy Echelons, visit the project page here, or for documentation, visit the wiki here.

The goal was to create a mod in which the mobs progressively get more difficult the farther you travel down in the Overworld. It can be customized to be more difficult the farther you travel up as well, or both. I believe it works best in dimensions where there is a clear progression/change in the terrain, but it can be customized to any dimension.

By default, Stronger Mobs Below only modifies vanilla Minecraft mobs. To enable other mods, you will have to update the [defaultconfigs | world save serverconfig]/stronger_mobs_below/smb_difficulty_config_xxx.toml config file.
