The author built this one for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge. On other versions it may install and then do nothing.

NPNT | NO PLAYER NAME TAGS

Deterministic name tag control. No hacks. No exploits.

Powered by Quantified API

v1.1.0 is a full internal rewrite and requires Quantified API.

What does this mod do?

Prevents all player name tags from rendering on the client. Enforcement is server-side and respected by clients.

Removing the mod restores vanilla behavior instantly, no cleanup required.

Core Features

  • Raytrace based (Not THE RAYTRACING XD) visibility. Name tags only render when line of sight is clear and blocks are transparent
  • Optional distance limit for visibility checks
  • Per-player overrides and per-world rules
  • Persistent storage in config/npnt/data, global config in config/npnt
  • OP-only commands

Commands

/npnt mode
/npnt mode visual
/npnt mode hide_all
/npnt mode visual <player>
/npnt mode hide_all <player>
/npnt mode clear <player>
/npnt distance <blocks>
