Origins: Dragons Galore is an Origins addon which adds various dragon origins which have unique abilities, as well as a balanced flight system (I call it the Takeoff mechanic).
In the initial release, the mod adds 3 Origins and 2 Classes (for the addon Origins: Classes).
the origins are:
- Fire Dragon: a pvp-oriented dragon origin with a powerful fireball ability and passive fire aspect when on fire. The Fire dragon origin is immune to fire, but it is very vulnerable to water (Damage over time + freezing like in powdered snow).
- Sea Dragon: a dragon origin which greatly benefits from being underwater or under the rain, gaining buffs (positive status effects), but it can barely defend itself on land with clear weather. The Sea Dragon origin can fish (using its primary ability) 3 raw salmon every 5 seconds for a stable underwater food source.
- Wind Dragon: a dragon capable of flying further than other dragon origins from this mod, is immune to fall and kinetic damage and can launch targets in the air by hitting them, but it is very slow underwater and has less max health than a regular human (a human would have 20 hp or 10 hearts).
All dragons use a mechanic called Takeoff. Sea and Fire dragon origins can only boost once per flight (a flight meaning between you start flying and you next touch the ground). Wind dragons have 3 of such boosts per flight.
The classes are:
- Dragonkeeper: it strengthens players around them if their origin is one of the dragon origins. A Dragonkeeper would be able to ride those players like a regular player can ride a pig, but without the need for a saddle.
- Dragon Slayer: Dragonslayers can disable the wings (AKA disable elytra flight) of any player with dragon origins from this mod by just hitting them (such effect would only last 10 seconds and it can also be done to the Elytrian, an origin from the Origins mod). Also deals more damage to players whose origin is one of the dragon origins from this mod.
These new classes cannot be chosen if your origin is one of the dragon origins.
