Ancient Villages is a vanilla-friendly Minecraft mod that adds fully custom Japanese-inspired villages to the world, designed to seamlessly integrate into the Minecraft universe.
Built entirely using The Dawn of Time blocks, the mod expands the Dawn of Time ecosystem by connecting structures, armors, plants and gameplay systems into a single, coherent experience.
The goal of Ancient Villages is to create living settlements with identity, stories and progression, while remaining faithful to Minecraft’s original mechanics. If you want to locate a village or a lone structure : /locate structure ancientvillages:xxx

The Ancient Villages serie
The Ancient Villages series introduces multiple Japanese-style villages spawning in taiga biomes, each built with unique layouts, scales and architectural styles.
Each village follows a distinct theme:
- Military villages
- Agricultural villages
- Industrial villages
- Commercial villages
Villages are not just decorative: they feature a fully vanilla-friendly questing system with unique stories to uncover.
Players will interact with NPCs facing personal struggles such as heritage conflicts, revenge, family dramas, religious pressure, and more.
By helping villagers and completing quests, players build their reputation, unlocking:
- Access to powerful equipment
- Advanced crafting opportunities
- Deeper integration within village life
Every village offers different stories, NPCs, house styles and progression paths, encouraging exploration and long-term involvement.
⚠️ Early Release Notice
Ancient Villages is currently in early release.
The mod is stable and playable, but actively being tested. Feedback during this testing phase is essential and will directly shape future updates. Players are strongly encouraged to share their experiences and suggestions.
