Tectonic Data Pack (1.21.11, 1.20.1) – It’s time to Explore a New Generation of Terrain

Tectonic Data Pack is a major data pack that significantly overhauls the game’s overworld generation. Here, you will see tall mountain ranges, underground rivers stretching forward for thousands of blocks, and interesting landscapes that make exploring the world much more exciting – all without adding any new blocks.

Features:

Continents and Islands

• Large continent-like landmasses generating thousands to tens of thousands of blocks wide.
• Smaller islands between continents, up to around a thousand blocks across.
• Vanilla-styled mountainous islands; with Terralith, islands may include Calderas and Volcanoes.

Deeper Oceans

• Oceans are significantly deeper, with deep oceans reaching the deepslate layer.
• More varied terrain: overhangs and valleys.
• Ocean Monuments generate deeper in the mod version.

Mountain Ranges

• Massive ranges stretching tens of thousands of blocks.
• Mountains can approach the build limit.

Underground Rivers

• Continue river paths underground when surface terrain becomes too steep.
• Connected seamlessly with surface rivers.
• In the mod version: more glow lichen and occasional lantern-lit areas.

Lava Tunnels

• Deep underground formations shaped like underground rivers but filled with lava.

Jungle Pillars

• Large vertical rock pillars in jungles, sometimes over 100 blocks tall.

Canyons

• Large scenic canyon formations in certain badlands regions.

Dunes

• Most deserts generate smooth, rolling dune landscapes.

Plateaus

• 2-3 tiered plateaus with occasional smooth ramps for easier traversal.
• Badlands may have isolated plateaus not connected to rivers.

Valleys

• Some biomes, like Cherry Groves and Pale Gardens, generate lower terrain surrounded by plateaus.

Wetlands

• Forests, jungles and taigas near sea level include frequent lakes and ponds.
