Mob Spawn Reducer
Reduces hostile mob spawning in your world by a configurable percentage. Simple, lightweight, server-friendly.
⬇ Download on CurseForgeThe author built this one for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge. On other versions it may install and then do nothing.
This mod reduces hostile mob natural spawning (zombies, skeletons, creepers, spiders, witches, phantoms, and all other monsters) by a configurable percentage — 50% by default. With default settings, you will encounter roughly half as many hostile mobs at night and in caves, so you can focus more on building, exploring, and mining without being constantly swarmed. The reduction value can be changed from 0% (vanilla behavior) to 100% (no hostile mobs at all) by editing a single line in config/mobspawnreducer.properties. Peaceful mobs such as animals, villagers, and iron golems are completely unaffected and spawn normally. The mod is server-side only — install it on your server and it works for all players without requiring any client-side installation.
