The Geo Scanner

A specialized prospecting device with 200 uses and a 3-second cooldown between scans.

Controls

• RMB — Scan surrounding chunks for Geolosys ores
• Shift + RMB — Open the Ore Selection GUI to pick which ore to track
• LMB — Deactivate the scanner HUD

Tracking Radar

After scanning and selecting a target ore, the HUD switches to a live tracking radar:

• Compass Arrow — a rotating triangle that points directly at the nearest ore block relative to your body. Just walk where it points!
• Proximity Bar — fills up from Cold to Hot as you approach. Pulses when you're within 5 blocks.
• Coordinates — exact X, Y, Z of the nearest ore block
• Distance & Depth — how many blocks away + dig up or down
• Ore Highlighting — at close range (< 5 blocks), a glowing colored wireframe appears on the ore block
• Sound Ping — beeping speeds up as you get closer (toggle on/off in the GUI)

The HUD stays visible even after you put the scanner away — mine and build with both hands free!

Ore Selection GUI

Press Shift + RMB with the scanner to open the selection screen:

• All detected Geolosys ores in the scanned area
• Deposit density rating: Rich, Moderate, or Poor
• Y-level range and total block count per ore type
• One-click ore targeting
• Sound toggle button

Configuration

Server (geolosys_scanner-server.toml)

• allowedItems — items that activate the scanner (default: geolosys_scanner:geo_scanner)
• scanRadius — scan radius in chunks, 1–5 (default: 1)
• minDepth / maxDepth — Y-level scan boundaries (default: 1 / 80)
• updateIntervalTicks — radar update interval (default: 20 = 1 sec)
• cooldownSeconds — seconds between scans, 1–30 (default: 3)

Client (geolosys_scanner-client.toml)

• soundEnabled — radar proximity sound (default: true)
• soundVolume — sound volume 0.1–1.0 (default: 0.5)
• hudEnabled — show/hide the HUD overlay (default: true)
