Floatater

A recreation of the Floatater from the 2024w14potato April Fools' Snapshot!

Which build do you need?

This mod ships a separate file for every mod loader and every version of the game. Pick both, then download — the wrong build installs fine and then does nothing in the game.

Mod loader

Minecraft version

⬇ Download for 1.20–1.20.1 · Fabric⬇ Download for 1.20–1.20.1 · Forge
I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.

Header

Floatater adds a recreation of the original Floatater block and mechanics from the 2024 April Fool's Snapshot of Minecraft, 2024w14potato. It also includes the Floatato from the snapshot, and a new "Sticky Wand" to stop flying structures midair.

Features Added

All of these can be crafted in survival and the main focus of the mod, the Floatater, can be used for transportation or parkour levels, decorative building, anything you can think of!

Notes

I've made a few adjustments, one of them is to ensure that the Floatater cannot move Bedrock (along with some other typically immoveable blocks like command blocks, barrier blocks, etc.), as well as the Sticky Wand to stop structures easily.

I'm thinking about adding some quality of life features, or alternate version of Floataters that maybe re-active on their own or oscillate within a specified range, etc. but not sure yet. Leave a comment!
