Create: Armored Rails

A Create addon that adds a full train health and armor system. Your trains can now take damage, be destroyed, and be defended.

Core Mechanic

Attach a Hull Assembly block to your train to unlock the upgrade system. Without one, trains still have base HP, but with a hull, you get access to 9 tiers of hull frames and 9 unique modifiers.

All trains are vulnerable to damage from mobs, explosions, projectiles, and environmental hazards. Manage your train's health or face critical failure.

Hull Frames

All values are fully configurable.

Modifiers

Slot modifiers into your hull to customize your train's behavior:

• Overdrive Regulator: Speed boost when taking damage
• Emergency Override System: Lowers critical failure threshold
• Optical Camouflage: Reduces mob detection range
• Pristine Condition: Speed boost at full HP
• Superheated Engines: Flat speed boost
• Reinforced Bulkheads: Damage reduction
• Shock Absorber: Blast protection
• Reactive Armor: Reflects damage to attackers
• Engineer's Manuals: Chance to save repair materials

All modifiers are craftable using Create's Mechanical Crafter. They can also be found in dungeon loot.

Features

• Train Health System: All trains have HP. Damage them with mobs, explosions, projectiles, or environmental effects.
• Critical Failure: Below a configurable HP threshold, trains become inoperable. Players are ejected from controls. Smoke and alarm effects play.
• Repair System: Use the Repair Hammer + material in offhand to restore HP. Material depends on installed hull frame.
• Explosion on Death: Visual explosion with entity knockback when HP reaches 0. Train stays as a wreck to be repaired.
• Mob Targeting: Hostile mobs (including Creepers) actively target and attack trains. Detection range scales with hull upgrades.
• Damage Types: Blast protection, projectile protection, and fire resistance each reduce different damage sources.
• Speed Penalties: Train speed scales with HP. Higher-tier frames mitigate the penalty.
• Collision Damage: Trains take damage from hitting entities.
• Temperature Damage: Optional. Extreme biome temperatures damage trains over time, amplified by storms.
• Mandatory Hull Assembly: Configurable. Require a Hull Assembly block to assemble trains.

Tungsten

A new ore that spawns below Y=32. Full Create processing chain:

Mine > Crush > Wash/Smelt > Press into Sheets > Craft Hull Frames

Tungsten Alloy is created by superheated mixing tungsten + coal + netherite scrap.

Jade Support (Highly Recommended)

This mod has deep Jade integration and we highly recommend installing it alongside. Look at any train to see:

• Train name, HP bar with color coding
• Installed hull frame and repair material needed
• Speed, blast/projectile protection, fire resistance
• Critical failure warning
• Damage reduction stats

Configuration

Almost everything is configurable. Per-frame stats, per-modifier values, mob ranges, damage thresholds, temperature damage, explosion behavior, and more. Over 150 config options.
