🌾 What is Expanded Foodsystem?

Expanded Foodsystem expands Minecraft's food gameplay with new crops, ingredients, spices, kitchen blocks, meals, drinks, storage options, optional hydration and optional seasonal progression.

Instead of only crafting simple food or smelting meat, you can grow new crops, prepare ingredients on a cutting board, fry food in a pan, cook advanced meals in a cooking pot, drink teas and juices, and create meals with different quality levels and useful bonuses.

The mod is designed as a Vanilla+ experience. It adds more depth to survival, farming and cooking while still feeling like Minecraft.

✨ Main Features

💧 Hydration System

Expanded Foodsystem includes an optional Hydration System that adds a new survival layer to drinks, soups and teas.

If the server disables hydration, the client cannot force it on. This makes the system safe for servers and modpacks.

Hydration Effects

🍲 Cooking Pot

The Cooking Pot is the heart of the mod. It allows you to combine food, spices and water to create more advanced meals.

Cook simple meals, improved recipes, buff food, seasonal dishes and even legendary meals.

🍳 Frying Pan

The Frying Pan adds a faster and more direct way to prepare small meals and fried food.

Frying Pan Foods

📖 Cookbook System

The Cooking Pot and Frying Pan include built-in recipe books to help you discover and manage recipes.

⭐ Food Quality

Meals can have different quality levels depending on their recipe and ingredients.

Better food quality makes cooking feel more rewarding and gives rare ingredients and spices a real purpose.

💫 Buff Food and Drinks

Some recipes create Buff Food or special drinks. These provide short but useful effects for survival, exploration and combat.

Buff food is balanced to support survival gameplay without replacing potions.

🥤 Drinks and Teas

Expanded Foodsystem adds several drinks and teas that can be prepared through cooking. These drinks are especially useful when the Hydration System is enabled.

🌱 New Crops

Expanded Foodsystem adds several new crops and farming options.

Seeds can be found through grass drops, village loot or Farmer Villager trades.

🌦️ Optional Season System Integration

Expanded Foodsystem includes optional compatibility with Season System.

If Season System is not installed, these features are simply ignored and Expanded Foodsystem continues to work normally.

🍽️ Seasonal Recipes

When Season System is installed and seasonal recipes are enabled, special meals become available in their matching season.

Seasonal recipes make farming and cooking feel connected to the world around you.

🧂 Ingredients and Spices

Spices are an important part of the cooking system. They can improve recipes, unlock buff food or create higher-quality meals.

🧂 Salt Ore

Salt can be obtained from Salt Ore, which has been visually reworked to better fit the Minecraft world.

🔪 Cutting Board

The Cutting Board lets you prepare ingredients before cooking.

Place the ingredient on the board, use a kitchen knife, and receive the prepared result.

🗡️ Kitchen Knives

Kitchen knives are used with the Cutting Board and come in multiple material tiers.

🪵 Kitchen Shelves

Build a cozy pantry or kitchen with functional Kitchen Shelves.

Available wood variants include oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, bamboo, crimson and warped.
