I Saw A Turtle In The Night is a horror add-on for Minecraft Bedrock Edition that introduces a terrifying creature known as the Horror Turtle.

 

This isn't a normal Minecraft turtle. Once it finds you, hiding behind a door or climbing somewhere high may not be enough.

 

🐢 THE HORROR TURTLE

 

The Horror Turtle can appear while you're exploring the surface, wandering at night, or traveling through dark caves.

 

It can detect players from up to 20 blocks away in every direction. Once it notices you, special sounds and spooky chase music begin as the creature starts hunting you.

 

👁️ Features

 

- 100 HP, similar to an Iron Golem

- Deals 3.5 hearts of damage per attack

- Moves slightly faster than a normal cow

- Detects players within a 20-block radius

- Can detect players above, below, behind, and around it

- Plays a special sound when it notices you

- Plays spooky action music while chasing you

- Has custom walking, attacking, chasing, and climbing animations

- Can climb blocks like a spider

- Can break doors

- Can smash windows and glass

- If it cannot reach you for a long time, it can begin breaking blocks to reach you

- It cannot destroy Bedrock or other protected/unobtainable survival blocks

 

🌙 Spawning

 

The Horror Turtle is designed to make normal survival exploration unpredictable.

 

It can spawn in dark areas and caves, but nighttime is especially dangerous. During the night, the Horror Turtle can appear even when the surrounding area is lit.

 

When it appears near a player, its spawn distance is randomized so you won't always know exactly where it is coming from.

 

The creature is intentionally uncommon, so encounters should feel unexpected instead of having Horror Turtles constantly spawning around you.

 

Only one Horror Turtle can remain active at a time, preventing multiple turtles from overwhelming the player.

 

⚔️ TURTLE CLAW

 

Defeating the Horror Turtle yourself rewards you with its Turtle Claw.

 

The Turtle Claw is a special weapon that deals +8 attack damage and cannot be enchanted.

 

But there is a catch:

 

If the Horror Turtle kills you, the creature dies afterward and does NOT drop its claw.

 

You have to defeat it yourself to earn the weapon.

 

🏚️ SURVIVAL JUST GOT SCARIER

 

Building a house won't necessarily make you safe.

 

A door can be destroyed.

 

A window can be smashed.

 

A wall may eventually be broken.

 

And climbing somewhere high may not save you either.

 

You might be mining peacefully in a cave, walking through the forest at night, or sitting inside your base when you suddenly hear the sound that means...

 

It saw you.
