Tensura: ReRebirth

A rebirth and prestige system for Tensura: Reincarnated.

Reset your progression and come back stronger, with bigger starting skill pools, new race options, skill locking, permanent rewards, and harder requirements that stack with every rebirth.

Made for the Tensura Restricted modpack, but fully usable as a standalone addition to any Tensura pack.

⭐ How Rebirth Works

• Once you meet the requirements, use /rebirth to open the rebirth screen and see everything you still need.
• When you're ready, use /rebirth confirm.
• Your Tensura progression resets according to the server config. Servers can reset everything, race only, skills only, or nothing.
• Your rebirth level goes up by one, unlocking stronger rewards and harder requirements for the next one.
• Rebirths can sync with Tensura's built-in reset counter (syncResetCounter, on by default), so systems built on that counter — like ReReroll's per-reset bonus rerolls — count every rebirth as a proper reset.
• The synced counter is capped by maxSyncedResetCounter, and it now survives properly across relogs and world transfers.
• Players who rebirthed before counter syncing existed get their counter corrected automatically when they join. Staff can also set it by hand.

📋 Requirements

Scaling EP

• Each rebirth can demand more Existence Points, following a configurable curve: a base EP value, a multiplier per rebirth, and a flat amount added per rebirth.
• Gentle progression or brutal endgame prestige grind, your call.

Per-Level Bosses

• Boss requirements are configured per rebirth level, and every level automatically includes the bosses from the levels below it.
• If level 1 needs Boss A and level 2 adds Boss B, your second rebirth needs both.
• Kills are tracked per player, and progress resets after rebirth (that reset can be turned off).
• The next rebirth shows the full checklist. Later previews only show what those levels add.
• Only kills you land yourself, or with your own projectile, count. Subordinates, tamed mobs, pets and summons do not.
• Boss entries display real entity icons in the rebirth screen instead of raw ids.

Awakening

• Servers can optionally require Demon Lord Seed, True Demon Lord, Hero Egg, True Hero, or either True Demon Lord or True Hero.

👻 Echoes — Your Past Life Returns

• When you rebirth, your previous life is preserved as an Echo: a hostile, towering copy of your former self, wearing your skin and carrying your name.
• Echoes fight with the skills from the life you left behind, kept with their full skill data, cast on a configurable interval.
• Mirror past life makes the Echo inherit your old character properly: health, attack damage, armor, armor toughness, knockback resistance, Aura, Magicule, Spiritual Health, your race, and your awakening state (Demon Lord Seed, True Demon Lord, Hero Egg, True Hero).
• Health and damage also scale off the EP your past life had, with configurable base values, per-EP scaling, a power multiplier, and hard caps so an Echo can never scale out of control.
• Fighting an Echo shows a boss bar with its name, race and EP.
• Echoes spawn near their owner on a configurable interval and chance, and despawn after a configurable time.
• They exist normally in the world, so any player can run into one and fight it. Whoever lands the killing blow earns a coin bounty.
• Bounties are configurable — base coins, coins per EP, and a maximum payout — and are tracked per player so a bounty is only paid out once. Coin bounties require Tensura Restricted.
• Echoes grant no EP and drop no skills. They're excluded from EP Initiate, so they can't be farmed. The bounty is their only reward.
• From your second rebirth on, slaying your own Echo can be required before you rebirth again. On by default, and can be turned off.
• /rebirth echo summons your pending Echo so you can face your past life on your own terms. Servers can disable manual summoning, or disable the whole Echo system.

🎁 Rebirth Rewards

Bigger Starting Skill Pools

• The skills available during reincarnation are gated by rebirth level.
• Fresh players start on the level-zero pool, and each rebirth can unlock more skills for future starting rolls.
• Per-level pools are cumulative, and support content from Tensura and installed addons.

Bigger Race Pools

• Race options unlock with the same per-level system.
• Supports races and evolution stages from Tensura: Reincarnated, installed addons, and custom server configurations.
• Every rebirth can widen the range of reincarnation choices.

Skill Locking

• At a configurable rebirth level, players can start locking skills so they survive the reset.
• Each locked skill replaces one random starting roll, so you preserve part of your build instead of getting free extra skills.
• Servers configure when locking unlocks, starting slot count, how often extra slots are granted, the maximum slots, and which skill types can be locked. Unique Skills only, by default.
• Slot maths accounts for slots granted by Tensura's resetPerSkillLock gamerule, so the total always matches the configured curve.
• ReRebirth now adopts and mirrors Tensura's own skill locks, so locks made through either system stay in sync instead of fighting each other.
• Works with the standard Tensura starting roll and with Tensura ReReroll.
• Manage locks in the rebirth screen, or with /rebirth lock, /rebirth unlock and /rebirth locks.

Permanent Rewards

• Commands can run whenever a player completes a rebirth.
• Set default rewards and override them at specific levels to hand-craft milestones.
• Reward commands run at permission level 4 as the server, with %player% and %level% replaced.
• Items, currency, permissions, titles, effects, custom commands and modpack-specific unlocks all work.
• Reward commands are editable in-game, on their own editor tab.

🖥️ The Rebirth GUI

• Adds a star tab to the Tensura status menu and replaces the normal reset-counter medal.
• The rebirth screen holds your requirement checklist with live progress, your current skill pool, your current race pool, and your required boss list.
• Skill, race and boss entries render with proper icons and names instead of raw registry ids, including entity icons for bosses.
• The interface previews what the next three rebirth levels unlock.
• Long requirement lists are laid out across two columns and scroll when needed. Skill Pool, Race Pool and Bosses tabs use the same two-column layout.
• Refreshed pixel-art styling across the rebirth and editor screens.
• The screens can apply a preferred GUI scale while open and restore your own setting on close, so the layout stays readable at any scale.
• When screen space is tight, Skill Locks moves into a fifth Locks tab.

Search and Sorting

• Skill Pool and Race Pool entries are sorted alphabetically within each level, and stay in fixed positions while scrolling instead of jumping between columns.
• Skill Pool, Race Pool and Bosses tabs all have search bars that filter by display name or registry id.

Skill Locks Panel

• A dedicated side panel on the rebirth screen. Click a skill to lock it, click a locked skill to free the slot.
• Locked skills show proper icons and names, with used and available slots displayed directly.
• The window shifts left when it needs more room, and folds the locks into a fifth tab when both won't fit.
• Staff get a gear button that opens the skill-locking configuration editor.

🛠️ In-Game Configuration Editor

Almost nothing needs editing by hand. Operators use /rebirth edit.

• Sections cover Progression (difficulty curves with live previews), Rules, Bosses, Pools, Echoes, Commands and Server.
• A master Rebirth enabled toggle can switch the whole system off without removing the mod.
• The Echoes section exposes everything: enable Echoes, allow /rebirth echo, must-slay-own-echo, mirror past life, base and per-EP health and damage, caps, power multiplier, max skills, seconds between skill casts, spawn chance, spawn check interval, despawn time, and the full coin bounty setup.
• The Commands section edits the reward commands that run on rebirth, per level.
• The Bosses editor uses the same level browser as Skill Pool and Race Pool. Move between levels with the arrows, add with + Level, remove with × Level.
• Adding pool entries opens a content browser with everything from every installed mod, plus search, category filters, skill-type filters (Common, Unique, Ultimate and more) and race-stage filters (starter, middle, max evolutions).
• The browser remembers your last category, so opening another picker doesn't snap back to All.
• Changes save straight to config/trrebirth/prestige.json.
• /rebirth reload applies hand-edited config without a restart.
• Saving or reloading refreshes data for every online player, so already-open reincarnation screens never show stale pools.
• Reloading also rewrites prestige.json, adding newly introduced options after a mod update. The config is version-stamped and migrates itself, so older configs pick up the new Echo scaling values automatically.

👮 Staff Commands

• /rebirth complete <player> — forces a player through their next rebirth, skipping requirements and the coin fee, while still running the full process: skill locking, Echo snapshot, progression reset, rewards and announcements.
• /rebirth counter <player> <value> — sets a player's Tensura reset counter directly, for fixing desynced or legacy counters.
• /rebirth clear <player> echo — marks the Echo requirement complete.
• /rebirth clear <player> bosses — marks all required bosses slain.
• /rebirth clear <player> boss <id> — marks one boss slain. Tab completion only shows bosses that player still needs.
• /rebirth clear <player> all — marks every stuck requirement complete.

🏷️ Custom Branding

• Rename the whole system with the brandName option. Every window title, chat prefix and broadcast follows it.
• Call it Rebirth, Prestige, Ascension, Awakening, or whatever fits your server.

⚡ Performance

• Built with multiplayer servers in mind.
• Config reads avoid unnecessary locking.
• Boss progress, skill pools and race pool lookups are cached.
• GUI lists aren't rebuilt every frame.
• Registry-backed content browsers scan installed content once per session.
• Pool information is synced from the server, so dedicated-server clients always see the exact race, skill and boss pools the server uses.

🔌 Integrations (all optional)

Tensura Restricted

• Rebirths can cost Restricted Coins, reward Restricted Coins, and fund configurable Echo bounties.
• Every rebirth level can add a permanent quest coin bonus.
• The quest coin integration reports its status in the server log at startup: active, inactive, or failed to load.
• Without Tensura Restricted, coin features disable themselves.

TensuraMoreUtils

• Skills banned through TensuraMoreUtils never appear in rebirth skill pools or reincarnation starting rolls.

Tensura ReReroll / Gacha Start

• Locked skills work with gacha reincarnation rolls.
• Because rebirths sync with Tensura's reset counter, per-reset bonuses recognise each rebirth correctly.
