🌌 Aether No Escape

Tired of players using the void as a free teleport back to the Overworld? Aether No Escape is a simple mod that fixes that!

When you jump or fall off an island in The Aether, you won't get dropped back home. Instead, you're stuck in a loop – the mod teleports you right back to the top of the sky in the Aether. You'll have to fight for survival, aim for water, land on Aerclouds, or actually build a portal to get back.

✨ What does it do?

⚙️ How it works

  1. You fall off an island and hit the minimum Y threshold in the void.
  2. The mod stops you from switching dimensions and sends you back to the top of the sky.
  3. Once you hit the ground, your HP and fall damage are adjusted based on your config settings.

📄 Config File (aethernoescape-common.toml / aethernoescape.json)

The mod generates a config file in your config/ folder on first launch:

#Y position threshold below which teleportation is triggered
#Range: -100.0 ~ 300.0
yLimit = 1.0

#Target Y height where the player will be teleported
#Range: 0.0 ~ 1000.0
yTarget = 200.0

#Player health set upon landing (1.0 = half a heart)
#Range: 0.1 ~ 20.0
healthOnLanding = 1.0

#Minimum HP required to survive the fall. If player HP is lower or equal, they die. Set to 0.0 to disable death.
#Range: 0.0 ~ 100.0
minHealthToSurvive = 2.0

#If true, disables landing damage completely and keeps current player health
safeLanding = false
