Curses Revamped Additional

by REDKING_11 · on Modrinth

Addon for Curses Revamped that adds new, hidden, and dangerous curses with research, fake enchantments, cursed books, and Ominous Offering.

Which build do you need?

This mod ships a separate file for every mod loader and every version of the game. Pick both, then download — the wrong build installs fine and then does nothing in the game.

⬇ Download for 1.21.1–1.21.11 · Fabric⬇ Download for 1.21.1 · NeoForge
I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.

Summary

Addon for Curses Revamped that adds new, hidden, and dangerous curses with research, fake enchantments, cursed books, and Ominous Offering.

Description

Curses Revamped: Additional Curses

The full curse system addon for Curses Revamped.

This addon turns curses into a real gamble. Curses can hide behind fake vanilla enchantment names, unknown curses must be researched, cursed books can be dangerous just to hold, and enchanting can offer stronger gear at a cost.

Required Dependency

This mod requires Curses Revamped Base 1.2.0 or newer.

Base page: Curses Revamped

Install both files for your loader:

Do not install only this Additional jar. In 1.2+, Additional is a true addon and depends on Base for shared curse logic, discovery data, cursed boons, commands, and vanilla curse support.

Client And Server

Additional should be installed on both the server and the client.

The server needs it for custom curse behavior. The client needs it for research UI, fake/hidden curse tooltips, scrambled curse names, and expanded tooltip details.

What This Adds

How Curse Discovery Works

Unknown Curses

Curses start unknown for each player in each world. Unknown curses can appear as scrambled Minecraft obfuscated text, or sometimes pretend to be believable vanilla enchantments.

Examples:

Research

To fully reveal a curse:

Base research costs:

Bookshelves matter. Missing bookshelves make research more expensive.

Protection-style fake curses can also enter a middle state: taking matching damage can reveal the real curse name, but the detailed effect stays locked until research.

Ominous Offering And Cursed Enchanting

Ominous Offering

Ominous Offering is a rare enchanting-table option that gives stronger enchantment rolls at the cost of guaranteed curse risk.

Bad Omen makes Ominous Offering and extra curses more likely. Hero of the Village reduces curse pressure.

Ominous Offering can also very rarely roll one vanilla enchantment above its normal max level, controlled by hidden config.

Cursed Boons

Some newly cursed items can receive a small positive boon:

The goal is simple: make players ask, "Is this item worth the curse?"

Cursed Equipping

If an enchanted item receives a visible curse, it can automatically equip into its matching slot so the player cannot dodge the curse by leaving it in the enchanting table.

Hidden fake curses avoid auto-equipping so they do not immediately reveal themselves.

Additional Curse List

Curse of Fragility

Leveled curse. Items can take extra random durability damage when damaged. Can fake as Unbreaking.

Curse of Hunger

Durability loss can consume hunger instead. With Fragility, the hunger cost can become much harsher.

Curse of Echoes

Durability damage can repeat back into the item.

Curse of Soulbinding

Soulbound items stay in your inventory after death and cannot be thrown out or dropped.

Curse of Backlash

When you damage something, there is a chance you take damage yourself.

Can fake as Thorns.

Curse of Blindness

Applies to helmets and anything worn on the head. Can blind the wearer.

Curse of Pulling

When you hit a target, you are pulled toward them. Works on melee weapons, bows, and crossbows. Knockback and Punch make the pull stronger.

Curse of Concrete Legs

Applies to boots and leggings. Reverse Feather Falling: fall damage starts sooner and scales harder.

Curse of No Jumping

Applies to boots and leggings. Blocks normal jumping and swimming upward.

Curse of Curses

Acts like getting hit with all supported curse effects at once. Rare because it is intentionally awful.

If worn on armor, it can also project held-item debuffs onto the item in your hand.

Curse of Bad Omen

Applies Bad Omen. The longer you survive with it, the higher the level can become.

Curse of Reduced Reach

Four-level curse that reduces reach. Armor gives a passive reach penalty; held items give an active penalty.

Curse of Fire

Armor curse with 4 levels. Can fake as Fire Protection, but fire damage is increased and taking damage can ignite you.

Curse of Projectiles

Armor curse with 4 levels. Can fake as Projectile Protection, but projectile damage is increased.

Curse of Explosions

Armor curse with 4 levels. Can fake as Blast Protection, but explosion damage is increased and explosions can jolt you upward.

Curse of Vulnerability

Armor curse with 4 levels. Can fake as Protection, but all incoming damage is increased.

Curse of Counterfeit

Armor curse. Can fake as Protection, but the cursed armor piece gives no armor or toughness damage reduction. Other enchantment effects still work. Idea: Melmi.

Curse of Crossed Wires

Reverses controls, including movement, jumping/sneaking, and mouse buttons.

Curse of Dead Wings

Applies to elytra. Elytra flight can randomly fail for a short unpredictable time. Can fake as Unbreaking or Mending.

Curse of Mercy

Can prevent killing blows by leaving the target alive at 1 health.

Curse of Magnetism

Pulls nearby dropped items and incoming arrows toward the cursed player.

Debugging And Config

Debug Command

/cursesrevamped debug item

Shows the held item's real enchantments, curse discovery state, fake display state, boon data, and active curse effects.

Hidden Config

Config files are plain hidden config files, not Mod Menu screens.

Base owns shared settings such as cursed boon chances. Additional owns addon-specific settings such as fake anvil curses and Ominous Offering behavior.
