Bring real Java Edition combat to your Bedrock world. No more winning fights by clicking as fast as possible — this pack brings the timing-based combat system Java players have used since the 1.9 Combat Update straight to Bedrock, fully configurable in-game.

Features

Attack Cooldown — Every hit's damage depends on how charged your weapon is. Spam-click and you'll deal as little as 20% damage; wait for the charge and you'll hit for full damage. Swords charge in about 0.6 seconds, axes take about 1 second, matching Java's real numbers.

Critical Hits — Land a fully-charged hit while falling (not sprinting, not on the ground) and you'll deal 1.5x damage, with the crit particle effect.

Sweep Attacks — A fully-charged sword swing also catches anyone standing nearby for bonus damage, just like Java's sweeping edge.

Fully configurable in-game — No config files to dig through. Admins type !pvp in chat to toggle features on or off and adjust cooldown timing, the damage floor, and more. Changes save instantly and persist through restarts.

PvP-only — Only player-vs-player melee combat is affected. PvE, arrows, fall damage, and everything else plays exactly like normal Bedrock.

Requirements

• Minecraft Bedrock 1.21+
• Beta APIs experiment enabled in World Settings → Experiments

Setup

1. Import the .mcpack and activate it on your world.
2. Enable the Beta APIs experiment (World Settings → Experiments).
3. Give an admin the settings tag: /tag PlayerName add rank_admin
4. That admin types !pvp in chat to open the settings menu.

Notes

This pack cancels the vanilla instant-damage hit and reapplies a scaled amount based on timing, using Entity.applyDamage and beforeEvents.entityHurt. Only melee hits between players are touched — everything else (PvE, projectiles, fall damage, etc.) is left completely alone.
