This add-on brings the iconic stick figures from Alan Becker's Animator vs. Animation universe into Minecraft Bedrock Edition, allowing players to transform themselves or Minecraft mobs into animated stick figures. It features five characters: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, and The Second Coming (TSC), with each character having its own appearance, texture, item, and animation-compatible model. TSC uses a separate model and texture from the other four stick figures.
The addon uses Minecraft's armor/attachable rendering system to display the stick figures. The stickman items occupy the head armor slot, while the original player or mob is made invisible through continuously refreshed invisibility effects. This makes the stick figure effectively replace the appearance of the player or mob while preserving the underlying entity's movement, AI, health, attacks, abilities, and other normal behavior. The stick figures therefore animate according to the movement state of whatever entity is wearing them rather than being completely independent mobs.
Stickman characters and items
There are five wearable stickman items:

Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, The Second Coming
Each has a maximum stack size of 1 and can be equipped in the head slot. They have their own colored textures and attachable definitions.

There are also five corresponding Stickman on a Stick items:

Red Stickman on a Stick
Yellow Stickman on a Stick
Green Stickman on a Stick
Blue Stickman on a Stick
The Second Coming on a Stick
These items are deliberately not wearable. Instead, using one on a Minecraft entity transfers the corresponding stickman into that entity's head slot. The original item is consumed when successfully applied. This allows practically any supported mob to be converted into a moving stick figure while retaining the mob's normal behavior.
Transform item / Gauntlet

The addon also contains a Transform item, internally identified as unk:gauntlet. When the player uses it, a custom graphical selection menu opens titled "Choose Your Stickman". This item is not craftable and is a creative mode exclusive item.
The menu provides six choices:

-
Red
-
Yellow
-
Green
-
Blue
-
The Second Coming
-
Remove Stickman
Selecting one of the five characters equips that stickman's wearable item to the player's head slot. Selecting Remove Stickman removes the stickman item and restores the player's normal appearance. A Minecraft orb-style sound is played when the transformation is performed.
This means the Transform item provides a convenient character-selection interface instead of requiring the player to manually equip each individual stickman item.
Stickman animations

The stick figures are not static models. The addon contains a custom stickman animation system with separate animations for different movement states, including:
Idle
Walking
Running
Jumping
Flying/gliding
Sneaking
Sitting
Sleeping
Swimming
Climbing/crouching-related animation support
An animation controller automatically switches between these states based on the underlying entity's movement and state queries. Consequently, a stickman can walk, run, jump, sneak, sit, sleep, swim, fly/glide, etc., while the original Minecraft entity remains responsible for the actual behavior.
The animation system also contains custom limb, body, head, and foot movements designed to make the stick figures move more like animated Alan Becker-style characters rather than simply behaving like rigid armor models.
Mob transformation system

The addon is designed to work with a large collection of Minecraft entities. The Resource Pack contains modified client entity definitions for 75+ regular Minecraft entity types, enabling them to render custom attachables.
The supported entity definitions cover a very broad range of mobs, including examples such as:
Zombies and zombie variants
Skeleton-related mobs
Creepers
Spiders and cave spiders
Endermen
Villagers and wandering traders
Pillagers and vindicators
Witches and evokers
Piglins and piglin brutes
Animals such as cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, horses, donkeys, wolves, cats, rabbits, foxes, pandas, goats, and others
Aquatic mobs such as fish, dolphins, guardians, squids, and axolotls
Nether mobs such as blazes, ghasts, hoglins, zoglins, striders, and magma cubes
Boss/large entities such as the Wither, Warden, Ender Dragon, Ravager, and Elder Guardian
Newer mobs such as the Breeze, Armadillo, Bogged, Sniffer, Camel, Frog, Tadpole, and others
The exact appearance and positioning naturally depend on the underlying mob because different Minecraft entities have different models and origins.
Special handling for mobs without a suitable head bone
The addon contains a JavaScript workaround for entities whose vanilla model does not provide the required head bone for a Bedrock head-slot attachable.
In particular, Iron Golems receive special handling. When an Iron Golem is transformed, the addon creates a tiny invisible/bodiless unk:stick_rider proxy entity. This proxy has a dedicated head bone, allowing the stickman attachable to render even though the Iron Golem itself does not provide the appropriate bone.
The proxy stores the ID of the mob it belongs to and is repeatedly teleported to the mob's position. This keeps the stickman visual synchronized with the original entity while the original entity itself remains invisible.
The same JavaScript mechanism is prepared for Slimes as well, although the current Resource Pack does not contain a dedicated Slime client-entity override.
Shears on a Stick

The addon also includes a Shears on a Stick item specifically for removing stickmen from mobs.
It is crafted from:

Shears + Stick → Shears on a Stick
Using it on an entity checks its head slot for one of the five supported stickman items. If a stickman is found:
The stickman is removed from the entity.

The exact same stickman item is dropped at the entity's position.
The Shears on a Stick is not consumed.
A sound is played.
For proxy-based entities such as Iron Golems, the corresponding proxy visual is also removed.
This makes the transformation reversible without destroying the stickman item.
Crafting
All five wearable stickman items can be crafted using a shaped crafting recipe consisting of:

Three pieces of the corresponding colored wool across the top + two sticks on the sides + an armor stand in the center.
The colors are:
Red → Red Wool
Yellow → Yellow Wool
Green → Lime Wool
Blue → Light Blue Wool
TSC → Orange Wool
Each wearable stickman can then be converted into its corresponding Stickman on a Stick using:
Stickman + Stick → Stickman on a Stick

Rendering and appearance
The addon contains custom stickman geometry, textures, attachables, render controllers, animation controllers, and entity definitions.
The four normal stick figures share the main stickman geometry while using different colored textures. The Second Coming has its own geometry, allowing it to have a visually distinct design rather than simply being another recolored stick figure.
The stickman attachables are rendered with a custom material and armor render controller, while the underlying Minecraft entity is hidden through the continuously refreshed invisibility effects.
Overall functionality
The addon essentially turns existing Minecraft entities into living Alan Becker-style stick figures without replacing their underlying Minecraft behavior. A player can transform themselves through the Transform menu, while mobs can be transformed by hitting/interacting with them using the appropriate Stickman on a Stick. The resulting stickman inherits the entity's normal movement and behavior, while the addon replaces its visible appearance with an animated colored stick figure.
In short, the addon combines custom stickman models + animated attachables + invisible underlying entities + head-slot equipment + JavaScript interaction handling + mob-specific client entity support + reversible Stickman-on-a-Stick transformations to create Alan Becker-style stick figures that actually move around and behave like the Minecraft entities underneath them.
