The Hearth Pack

this pack is optional. recommended, but optional. the hearth is a small survival server for friends and the rule is vanilla: a plain client can always join, and so can bedrock through geyser. nothing in here changes what you can do on the server, it only changes how it runs, looks and sounds on your machine. if you want the best version of it, install this. if you just want in, you already can.

what it does

• runs better: sodium, lithium, immediatelyfast, entity culling, ferritecore, krypton, modernfix, ixeris, scalablelux, language reload
• looks better: iris with complementary and sildur's referenced (not bundled), fresh animations with all of its official addons on by default, continuity, lambdynamiclights, falling leaves, wavey capes, better block entities, particle rain and visuality
• sounds better: sound physics, ambient sounds, presence footsteps
• gets out of your way: mod menu, zoomify, mouse tweaks, appleskin, jade, xaero's minimap and world map, status effect bars, item highlighter, durability tooltip, armor hud, not enough crashes, crash assistant, chat heads, no chat reports, cubes without borders, puzzle for the resource pack stack

what it ships that a mod list does not

sensible defaults under config/defaultoptions (applied once, never overwritten on update): the server pre-added to your list, keybinds without collisions, the resource pack order that keeps fresh animations working, and a dynamic fps config that keeps voice chat audible when you alt-tab.

optional, present but off

whimscape, the vanilla-plus texture overhaul. turn it on in the resource pack screen if you like the look. its fresh animations compatibility patch has no 26.2 build yet, so expect the animations to drop while it is on.

the server

the hearth is at mc.hartforge.dev (java, no port needed; bedrock uses port 19132 on the same address). it is whitelisted, friends and friends of friends. if you know someone on it, ask them to get you in through our discord. you do not need this pack to join, a plain client works.
