AmbiMod | Dynamic Ambient Sounds

Dynamic ambient sounds for Minecraft Bedrock
Biomes • Weather • Day/Night • Ocean • Wind • Caves • Indoor

AmbiMod is a lightweight client-side ambient audio addon for Minecraft Bedrock that makes the world react to your surroundings in real time.

The environment changes with your biome, weather, time of day, altitude, water, caves, and indoor surroundings, creating a more alive and immersive Minecraft experience without changing the core gameplay.

AmbiMod is designed to make transitions feel natural. Its stability system prevents constant sound switching when crossing borders between environments, while overlapping transitions help avoid abrupt audio cuts.

🌍 Dynamic Environmental Audio

🌅 Day & Night

Different environments react to the time of day.

Forests, plains, swamps and other natural areas come alive with daytime birds, while nighttime switches to a darker nocturnal atmosphere.

🌴 Jungle Ambience

Jungles have their own atmosphere.

During the day, jungle ambience and birds play together, creating a denser tropical soundscape instead of simply replacing the normal daytime environment.

🌵 Desert Storms

When rain or thunderstorms affect dry environments, AmbiMod can switch to a dedicated desert storm atmosphere, bringing strong dry wind and storm ambience to places where normal rain sounds would not fit the environment.

🌬️ Wind & High Altitude

Wind becomes more prominent in windy environments and at high elevations.

At Y=150 and above, the high-altitude wind environment takes priority, even when the terrain below cannot be detected reliably.

🌊 Ocean & Coastal Ambience

Approaching large bodies of water or marine environments can trigger ocean wave ambience, giving beaches and coastlines a more natural acoustic identity.

🌧️ Dynamic Weather

AmbiMod reacts to changing weather conditions and can switch the environment to:

Weather takes priority over normal wildlife ambience when appropriate, allowing the world to become noticeably quieter and more atmospheric during storms.

🕳️ Cave Ambience

Descending below Y=40 activates a dedicated underground atmosphere.

Caves use their own sound environment to create a darker and more enclosed feeling while exploring underground.

🏡 Indoor Ambience

AmbiMod detects enclosed spaces using the surrounding blocks.

When a player remains inside a properly enclosed structure, the outdoor ambience transitions to a quieter indoor version rather than abruptly cutting off.

The indoor system uses separate audio definitions so the outside ambience can be reduced while preserving the original soundscape.

🎧 Stable & Natural Transitions

AmbiMod uses stability checks and transition delays to prevent the audio from rapidly switching when moving around environmental borders.

The system can also preserve the previous ambience when the environment cannot be reliably identified, avoiding artificial jumps to a default sound.
