The author built this one for Minecraft 26.40. On other versions it may install and then do nothing.

WebShift

WebShift is a Minecraft Bedrock addon about strange dreams, weird places and losing the reality.

Sometimes you can be playing normally and suddenly you start to feel something is wrong. The world can shift you into a random Dream, where you need to explore and try to survive until the time is over.

There is 10 different Dreams in the addon, and every time you enter one, you get a random Dream and a random time between 1 and 5 minutes.

How it works

When you enter a world with WebShift, you will get a WebShift Log book. The book explains the Dreams, mechanics and some tips for surviving.

In the Overworld, there is a 1 minute countdown. When the countdown ends, there is a 40% chance that you will be shifted into a Dream.

There is also other ways to enter a Dream:

Wooden doors: 20% chance

Beds: 12% chance

Bells: 10% chance

Chests: 5% chance

Random noclip event: 1% chance every second

Falling under the world can also cause an emergency Dream entry

When you get shifted, the screen starts doing effects and you will slowly go through the ground, like a noclip. This is only the transition, you are not supposed to stay in spectator mode.

After that, you arrive in one of the Dreams.

The Dreams

There are currently 10 Dreams:

1. Rainbow Field

2. The Poolrooms

3. School Maze

4. Door Field

5. Sky Playground

6. Liminal City

7. Childhood Room

8. Infinite Stairwell

9. Toy Hall

10. The Shift

The Dreams are made to be very big and generate while you explore, so you can walk for a long time without reaching a normal map border.

Each Dream has its own style and places to explore. Some are calm, some are empty and some are not very safe.

The Glitcher

There is also a creature called The Glitcher.

There is a 20% chance for it to appear when you enter a Dream.

It usually appears a few seconds after you arrive.

The Glitcher is faster than a normal player and will follow you around the Dream. It can climb and break blocks to reach you.

You cannot damage the Glitcher.

It also does not instantly kill you anymore, so you actually have a chance to run away.

If you see it, dont stay looking at it for too long.

Dream time

Every Dream has a random time between 1 and 5 minutes.

When the time is finished, you are taken back to the Overworld, close to the place where you entered the Dream.

The return also uses the noclip transition.

If you die, the Dream session is ended and when you respawn the Overworld countdown starts again from 1 minute.

Mobs

Normal Minecraft mobs should not spawn inside the Dreams.

The Dreams are meant to have their own atmosphere, so you will not have zombies and creepers randomly destroying the experience.

The Glitcher is the exception.

Requirements

This addon is made for Minecraft Bedrock.

You need to enable the experimental features required by the addon, specially:

Beta APIs

Experiments / Experimental Features

Make sure the experiments are enabled before entering the world.

You also need to activate Cheats, because WebShift uses scripts and custom dimensions.

It is recommended to create a new world for using the addon, specially if you want the full experience.

Important

WebShift changes how some things work in the world, including doors, beds, bells, chests, falling and random events.

The Dreams are not normal dimensions. They are supposed to feel strange, empty and unpredictable.

If something weird happens...

it might be part of the addon.

You don't remember getting here.
