Maw Of Despair
The author built this one for Minecraft 26.40. On other versions it may install and then do nothing.

A Minecraft Bedrock add-on featuring the Demon Maw—a deadly living pit that drags players and mobs into its jaws before revealing a treasure-filled stomach.
Important
Activate both Maw of Despair BP and its required Maw of Despair RP in your world.
The encounter permanently modifies terrain when it creates the pit, throat, and stomach. Back up any important world before installing the add-on.
Overview
Maw of Despair adds a survival-horror boss encounter that can emerge from natural terrain across the Overworld.
The Demon Maw lies dormant beneath the surface until an adventurer comes close. After a short warning, the ground collapses into a stepped pit and an unnatural force begins dragging everything toward the creature waiting at its center.
Fight from inside the danger zone to force the Maw open, defeat it before the suction becomes overwhelming, and descend through its throat to recover the equipment of adventurers it swallowed long ago.

Natural Encounter
The Demon Maw is designed to become part of a normal Survival world.
- Natural spawn attempts begin after 10–20 minutes
- It can appear on suitable land in any Overworld biome
- Water, lava, tree canopies, and common constructed surfaces are avoided
- The encounter is generated away from world spawn and near an active Survival player
- Only one living Demon Maw can exist in the world at a time
- A dormant Maw remains in the world until it is discovered
- After a Maw is defeated, a 30-minute cooldown begins before a new encounter can appear
- Defeated arenas and stomach chambers remain as permanent landmarks
Mawseeker Compass
Craft a Mawseeker Compass to track the hidden encounter without revealing its exact coordinates.
While held, its needle rotates toward the Demon Maw while the action bar displays a direction arrow, cardinal direction, and approximate distance. When no living Maw can be sensed—or when you travel to another dimension—the needle spins unpredictably and cannot be used to read a direction.
Craft it with a vanilla Compass in the center, Rotten Flesh in the four corners, and Redstone Dust on the four sides.

The Fight
1. Survive the Collapse
Approaching the dormant Maw triggers a warning before the ground falls away in stages, creating a large sloped pit.
Players, animals, and hostile mobs can all be dragged toward the center.
2. Enter the Pit to Attack
The Demon Maw seals itself while no player is inside the pit and cannot be harmed in that state.
Enter the pit to force its jaws open. Once exposed, the Maw becomes vulnerable—but you must fight while resisting its pull and avoiding the bite at the center.

3. Adapt to the Suction
The pull changes strength in irregular pulses, making movement difficult to predict. It also becomes progressively stronger as the Demon Maw loses health.
Getting too close to the center causes heavy bite damage. Every living creature caught inside the mouth is damaged independently.
4. Defeat the Demon Maw
The Demon Maw has 80 HP. Killing it immediately stops the suction and awards a Demon Maw Core as a trophy.
Inside the Stomach
Defeating the Demon Maw opens a physical passage beneath its body.
Climb down the ladder through its throat into a fleshy stomach chamber hidden deep underground. There is no teleportation and no time limit, and the same ladder leads back to the surface.
Three barrels inside the stomach receive independent randomized loot rolls.

Possible rewards include:
- Iron and gold ingots
- Emeralds, arrows, food, and torches
- Ender pearls, bows, compasses, saddles, and name tags
- Iron swords and diamonds
- Rare golden apples
- An extremely rare enchanted golden apple
The Demon Maw can digest adventurers—but not everything they carried.
