Crimson Fruit adds a new naturally-generating food item to the Nether: a small, deep-red fruit that grows hanging beneath the caps of crimson fungi.
The Fruit
Crimson Fruit spawns on its own in the Crimson Forest, dangling from the underside of huge crimson fungus caps. Roughly 2–4 fruits appear per tree, so a forest feels dotted with them rather than overgrown. Break the fruit — or the block holding it up — and it drops for you to collect.
It cannot be planted, and it cannot be forced to grow with bone meal. Crimson Fruit is something you find, not something you farm.
Eating It
- Restores 1 hunger and 0.5 saturation
- Grants 30 seconds of Fire Resistance
- Can be eaten even when your hunger bar is full
- Eating another one while the effect is active refreshes the timer back to 30 seconds — it never stacks into longer and longer immunity
That last detail is the point of the item. Crimson Fruit isn't a way to bank hours of fire immunity; it's a lightweight, renewable safety net for the Nether that you have to keep topping up. It fits naturally into early exploration, lava-heavy builds, and Nether travel without replacing potions.
