Sorting Modes
NeatChests includes several ways to organize your items.

Category
Groups materials into logical categories.

The sorting mode can be changed in config.yml.

How to Sort
Double-click

1. Open a supported container.
   
   
2. Double-click an empty inventory slot.
   
   
3. Done! ✨

Commands
Look at a supported container and run:
/neatchests sort

To sort your player inventory:
/neatchests sort inventory

Commands & Permissions
Command Description Permission
/neatchests Displays plugin information None
/neatchests reload Reloads the plugin configuration neatchests.reload
/neatchests sort Sorts the targeted container neatchests.sort
/neatchests sort inventory Sorts the player inventory neatchests.sort
/nc can also be used as an alias for /neatchests by default.

Additional aliases can be configured in config.yml.

NeatChests checks supported protection plugins before allowing protected containers to be sorted.

Minecraft Compatibility
⚠️ Important: NeatChests currently supports Minecraft 26.2 / Paper 26.2 and newer.
Older versions are not officially supported.

Installation

1. Download the latest NeatChests .jar.
   
   
2. Place it inside your server's plugins folder.
   
   
3. Start or restart the server.
   
   
4. Configure config.yml if desired.
   
   
5. Open a chest and start sorting. ✨

Why NeatChests?
Many inventory sorting plugins rely heavily on alphabetical material names.

That works...

...until things like this happen:

NeatChests instead uses configurable sorting logic to keep items where they make sense.
