The free build of Epic Mobs Rework. Not a trial.

This is the whole plugin, running for free, with limits on how much of it you can build. Nothing expires, nothing phones home, nothing counts down, and your players never see a nag screen. Install it and forget it, or hit the ceiling and come find the full version. Both are fine.

It is one plugin, it needs nothing else installed, and it runs on Spigot and Paper from 1.16.5 upward with no NMS anywhere in it.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

What it does

Take any vanilla entity. Give it a name, health, damage, resistance, gear, abilities and a loot table. Tell the plugin where in the world it belongs. It handles the rest.

- Custom mobs from any vanilla entity, built in chat with /ep create mob
- Six tiers, with health and damage bands that keep a fight sensible
- Equipment the mob wears and uses, loaded straight out of a chest
- Abilities from the built-in library, with telegraphs, so a player gets a warning before something lands on them
- Bosses with a boss bar, an entrance, and rewards shared across everybody who fought
- Raids anchored to a place, with waves you write, a kill goal, escalating tiers, a time limit and prizes for top damage, most kills and everyone who turned up
- Weighted loot tables, with guaranteed drops and rarity weights
- Rewards shared by damage dealt, not handed to whoever landed the last hit
- Spawn eggs, custom spawner blocks and timed triggers
- Potion effects, auras and particle trails
- A spawn budget, so none of the above can eat your tick

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Every integration works here

This is the part most free builds cut, and this one does not.

- Custom Enchantments 3. Mobs trigger the CE3 enchantments on their own gear, your CE3 weapons work properly against them, kill rewards can be paid in RACO, and CE3 protected boundaries keep Epic Mobs out of your builds
- Kumandra's Economy. Rewards paid straight into the Kd wallet, tagged so they read correctly in the transaction history, and they still reach a player who logged out mid fight
- Vault, with whatever economy sits behind it
- WorldGuard, so your regions keep mobs out. No WorldGuard? The plugin has its own regions
- PlaceholderAPI, for live mob counts, boss health and raid progress on your scoreboard

All of them optional, all of them detected on their own. /ep info tells you which ones are hooked.

The limits, in full

upload_2026-9-6_0-11-48.png

No guessing, no asterisks. This is all of it:

- A built-in set of mobs, plus 10 of your own. The ones that ship do not count against your ten, so you get a working server out of the box and still have all ten to spend on your own ideas. On this build the built-in ones stay put; you can edit them freely, you just cannot delete them
- 2 abilities per mob, from the built-in library. Writing your own abilities is not in this build
- 5 loot table entries per mob, on top of guaranteed drops
- 1 raid definition. It is a whole raid: a place, waves you write, a time limit and the three prizes. What it does not get is a boss on the last wave, or a wave that spawns a pack
- 3 spawn triggers
- 1 reward currency per mob. Every currency provider works, you just pick one per mob
- Spawn conditions are world, biome, time of day, group size and chance. Height band, light level, weather, moon phase, spawn distance and per-player cooldowns are not in this build
- No companions, mounts, guardians or friendly mobs
- No boss phases
- No packs, leaders or arenas, and no pack in a raid wave
- No player-count scaling
- No mob codex
- No admin editor GUI. The chat commands build the same mobs, it just takes longer
- The developer API answers every query and fires every event, but another plugin cannot spawn mobs or start raids through it in this build

/ep info prints this list in game, so you can see the ceiling before you hit it rather than after.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

What this build will never do

- It will not expire. There is no timer, no trial period and no licence check. The two builds are separate jars compiled from separate source, so there is nothing to check and nothing to run out
- It will not refuse to load your files. Go over a limit and the extra entries are skipped with a warning naming each one. The plugin still starts
- It will not eat your data. Move from the full version down to this one and every file stays intact. Move back up and you get everything back
- It will not bother your players. There is one support prompt and only server operators ever see it

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Set up in config.yml

- Every number the plugin uses is in a file. Spawn rates, intervals, ranges, drop chances, ability radii, regen, the raid tier table, all of it
- One readable file per mob, so you can edit one in a text editor or share it with somebody
- Bad values are caught on load and named, with the default they fell back to
- /ep reload reloads everything, config included
- Coming from the old Epic Mobs? Your mobs, raids, spawners and loot are converted on first start. Nothing is deleted

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Compatibility

- Spigot and Paper, 1.16.5 and upward. New Minecraft versions are supported as they land
- No NMS anywhere in the plugin. One jar, every supported version
- No other plugins required
- Restrict it to specific worlds, or leave the world list empty and run it everywhere
- Not available on Aternos

There is no refund once it is bought, so use this build first. That is what it is here for.

Questions and bug reports

Bug reports are welcome from this build. It is the same code, so a bug you find here is a bug in both.
