Blueberry Flavored Minecraft
⚠️ Inspired by klei_wright's Matcha Flavoured ⚠️
Blueberry Flavor changes some core mechanics, adds a few new items and modifies hostile mobs to make the game feel more relaxed while still keeping the vanilla feel alive.
Information on the datapack can be found in the pause menu after installation and activation. The advancements tab (default key L) also has information regarding some additions.
Changed Mechanics
Death
keep_inventory is permanently turned on. To prevent players from dying on purpose to teleport back to their respawn point, every death decreases your max health points by one heart, down to a minimum of three hearts. These lost hearts can be regained with one of the new item additions (more on that below) and enough experience points.
Monster spawning
Monsters (including phantoms and Pillager patrols) can now be permanently toggled off (or back on) ingame with the use of another new item addition (more below) and enough experience points. To make every aspect of the game still available to those who wish to play without lighting up every single nook of their base, villager traders now sell monster loot depending on their profession.
Villager trading
In addition to now offering monster loot depending on their profession, their stock is now infinite. This means you don't have to lock them up with their job site block anymore. To balance this out, villager traders no longer offer discounts for being a recurring customer.
Anvil experience costs
Both the experience level cost to repair an item and to enchant it don't increase anymore, making repairing tools frequently a viable strategy and doesn't penalize you for accidentally enchanting your boots in the wrong order.
Weather
Three new item additions allow players to control the weather, consuming the respective item and a few experience points.
Crafting
A bunch of new quality of life crafting recipes have been added, like turning slabs back into their full block version. Arguably most impactful is the addition of crafting recipes for early game shulker boxes and elytra.
Experience incentive
Shearing sheep and milking cows now grants a few experience points, once per mob per day. This should incentivize players to tend to their animals, rather than mass slaughter them. I might expand this in the future to include more morally good actions.
New items
Clay Doll of Vitality
In order to regain lost hearts players can use and consume a Clay Doll of Vitality and experience levels depending on the amount of lost hearts. When you're really low on hearts, regaining one is much cheaper than when you have almost all.

Clay Effigy
The Clay Effigy allows players to toggle monster spawning on or off, consuming the item and 30 levels (toggling monsters off) / 10 levels (toggling monsters on).

Clay Animals
The Clay Animals allow players to consume the item and experience levels in order to summon clear weather (Clay Beetle, 5 levels), rainy weather (Clay Frog, 10 levels) or stormy weather (Clay Firefly, 20 levels).

Icarus Wings
Craftable early game elytra come in the form (and name) of Icarus Wings, behaving just like Elytra with the addition of being dyeable just like any leather gear!

Leather Box
An early game shulker? Why, thank you! Craftable from leather and a chest. Basically a brown shulker box.

Crafting recipes
Make sure to always check your recipe book for new recipes, including at the furnace, blast furnace and smoker!
Mob changes
All mobs have modified attributes, generally weakening them. Creepers no longer destroy blocks!
Troubleshooting
Missing Textures
The datapack functions as a resource pack as well - make sure you have the .zip file both in the datapack folder of your world as well as a copy of the same .zip file in your resource pack folder.
