MMOUpgradePreview
Preview the next upgrade on the item you actually hold.
Two swords can share an MMOItems ID and still have different rolls, upgrade levels and socketed gems. This addon reads your main-hand item and shows its numerical changes from the next successful native upgrade in a read-only menu.
What you see
Try it
Your item stays where it is
The menu never performs an upgrade, consumes materials, moves the original stack or rolls a fresh template. It calculates from supported stored values and numerical history. Inventory gestures are cancelled while the menu is open.
A real tested example
A controlled item with base attack 20, a fixed +5 gem and a +10% native base upgrade shows 25 -> 27 (+2). Existing level-two equipment shows 29.2 -> 31.62 under that same template. These were compared against independent successful native upgrade calculations. Different templates can have different scaling rules.
Supported in version 1
Validated native numerical upgrade fields, including attack damage/speed, armor/toughness, max health and ordinary built-in DoubleStat fields. Templates containing elemental maps, enchantments, abilities or custom upgrade implementations are refused as a whole. Missing or inconsistent history is reported instead of replaced with a guessed prediction. This can include some legacy items.
Read the chance correctly
Numbers assume one successful upgrade. The displayed chance is the item's native chance; an upgrading consumable may alter the real final chance. This command does not select a consumable, check crafting costs or redirect a native station's item choice. Use your existing upgrade workflow for the actual action.
Requirements and validation
MMOItems and MythicLib are required and not bundled. No client mod, resource pack or packet dependency. Build target: Spigot API 1.20.4 / Java 17 bytecode. Tested native numerical preview with Java 21, Paper 1.21.4 and 1.21.8, MMOItems 6.10.1-SNAPSHOT and MythicLib 1.7.1-SNAPSHOT.
26 unit tests passed. Native tests covered distinct stored rolls, fixed gems, existing upgrades, max-level refusal, unchanged source data and no build/lore events during preview. The 1.21.8 player checks also covered menu and inventory gestures. Other development builds, MI7 and custom integrations require separate validation.
Configuration
Set language to en_US or zh_CN to override client locale. Language files and icon settings are created in plugins/MMOUpgradePreview. Reload with /miupgradepreview reload. The download includes the full README and configuration references.
Feedback
Use Discussion for mismatches, with exact versions, the upgrade template and a small redacted reproduction. An honest review after testing is welcome.
