Wild & Wonders: Evolution — Beta 0.1.0 Patch Notes
Welcome to the first test version of Wild & Wonders, a creature-focused addon designed to expand exploration, survival, and world utility in Minecraft by introducing unique wildlife that can serve as both valuable allies and challenging encounters.
In this first introductory beta, the main focus is on the update's flagship creature and the face of the project: the Giant Snail.
---
Why Was the Giant Snail Added?
The main goal behind introducing this creature is to fill a gap in early-to-mid-game exploration and utility. We wanted a mob that would not simply be part of the environment, but would directly interact with player mechanics—from resource gathering and feeding to redstone automation and decoration.
The Giant Snail is the first step toward an experience where players can discover functional creatures that genuinely help them progress through their worlds.
---
Habitat and Spawning
* Overworld: Giant Snails naturally spawn in peaceful and forested biomes, specifically Plains, Flower Forests, and Birch Forests.
* Nether: A rare and unusual variant can be found in Crimson Forests. This version is completely immune to fire.
---
Giant Snail Mechanics and Uses
* Slime Trail: As the snail moves, it leaves behind a viscous trail. When defeated or when its resources are harvested, this trail can provide Snail Slime or Shell Fragments.
* Blocks and Mechanisms: With the collected slime, players can craft special slime blocks with mechanical properties similar to vanilla slime and honey blocks. These are ideal for redstone systems, pistons, and advanced mechanisms.
* Shell and Food: By obtaining shell fragments, players can craft a Shell Bowl, a special culinary utility item capable of restoring the hunger and saturation bars to nearly their maximum instantly. It has a balanced cooldown and only one can be carried in the inventory at a time.
* Breeding and Healing:
* The common variant can be fed and bred using Brown Mushrooms.
* If the snail takes damage, players can restore its health by feeding it Red Mushrooms.
* Baby Growth: Baby snails can maintain their small size by being fed Golden Dandelions, or their growth can be massively accelerated by repeatedly feeding them these items.

Beta Development Notes
Version 0.1.0 is only the foundation of what is to come. Although the Giant Snail is currently the main and fully implemented creature, the future plan is to introduce between four and six additional functional and tamable creatures that will accompany players on their adventures, making exploration much more dynamic and entertaining.
