Rebirth

Rebirth is a Fabric mod inspired by the idea of returning to life after death, with its sound design inspired by Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-.

When a player dies with Instant Respawn enabled, Rebirth plays a custom rebirth sound depending on the cause of death. Three different sound variations are used, ranging from a relatively calm experience to a much darker and more disturbing one.

Rebirth Sounds

• Gentle Rebirth — used for ordinary and less dramatic deaths, such as falling, drowning, fire, starvation, environmental damage, and other common causes.
• Dreadful Rebirth — used for more dangerous or frightening deaths, including many hostile mobs, lava, prolonged burning, dangerous projectiles, and explosions.
• Terrifying Rebirth — reserved for the most dramatic deaths, such as falling into the void, the Warden's sonic boom, the Wither, the Ender Dragon, and other extreme causes.

The sound is selected automatically according to the cause of death, allowing different deaths to have different reactions.

Music

After a player's death, Rebirth immediately stops the current Minecraft background music and temporarily prevents another track from starting.

This effect is especially noticeable when using Minecraft's Frequent or Continuous music settings, where tracks play more often or directly after one another. With the regular music setting, the effect may be less noticeable because Minecraft already leaves longer gaps between tracks.

Important

Rebirth's death sounds only play when Instant Respawn is enabled. If Instant Respawn is disabled, the custom rebirth sound will not be triggered.

The mod can be used in both singleplayer and multiplayer. For multiplayer, installing Rebirth on both the client and server is recommended for the full experience.

Audio

The death sounds used by Rebirth are based on audio material from Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-. The audio has been manually restored, processed, enhanced, and adapted for use in Minecraft.

The most intense sound has also been additionally modified with original audio processing and an added bass layer to create a darker and more powerful effect.

The included audio assets are third-party-derived materials and are not covered by the MIT License. The MIT License applies to the Rebirth source code only.
